I had a great experience buying a car from Gilroy Toyota. The sales representative who approached me was very respectful and responsive to my requirements. All my interactions were pleasant. Typical misinformed salesman. Claims tires were within, “Spec” which they weren’t if you measured from the proper wear indicators. Says rear brakes were in spec which they weren’t if they were measured correctly. I’m pretty sure used cars cannot leave the lot in said condition. Yes, I know what I’m talking about and yes I had it documented by a separate, well established repair facility. Front brakes were done by them and the caliper pins were found loose and wear sensor retaining bolt back out on the first actual drive with the vehicle purchased which left us stranded for some time. I can go on and on but maybe BBB can do a better job of it. They also let me roll out of there without temp registration plates, just dealerships name plates. Rated one of the worse Toyota dealerships in the area for a reason. 🤷🏾♂️ More

A major problem occurred on closing and the salesman had only one excuse for his incompetence which was "I didn't know that". A minor problem occurred when they were incapable of connecting the car to the toyota app and because it was close to closing time just gave up. The car is great. The salesman and staff were unprofessional and unconcerned about the customer's welfare. Subsequent attempts to fix the major problem have gone ignored. Other than the ability of the staff to obtain the desired product when other dealerships were not, there is nothing positive about the dealership. More

The actual buying experience was okay. However, I was told the car would be ready to pick up a couple days later and it has now been 2.5 weeks and I still don’t have a ETA on when the car However, I was told the car would be ready to pick up a couple days later and it has now been 2.5 weeks and I still don’t have a ETA on when the car will be ready. There seems to be no urgency whatsoever and a lack of communication between team members and with me. If they were not ready to sell the car, I would have waited but the cat and mouse game I’m playing with the dealership has become an increasingly frustrating experience. I asked to see if they could offer a second key fob and could not even help with that. More
