Professional and easy to deal with. The only issue I had is we had to wait almost an hour when purchasing the vehicle. 15 word minimum. Ha. This was definitely one of the best car buying experiences we've ever had, so this will be a novelette. The only negatives are things that everyo Ha. This was definitely one of the best car buying experiences we've ever had, so this will be a novelette. The only negatives are things that everyone is dealing with and not specific to Sunset Ford: lack of inventory, difficulty test driving because demand exceeds supply, and people buying cars sight-unseen, so a car listed in inventory is claimed before it ever reaches the dealer, but I digress. Sunset Ford was a pleasure to deal with. Our experience started about a month ago. I walked over to the dealership because it looked like they had a Mustang Mach-E in stock. I'd been test driving EVs for weeks and the Mach E was the only one on our short list that I hadn't been able to drive. I spoke with Mike Geraghty and he let me know the vehicle was on order but probably wouldn't be in until somewhere between 4/5 and 4/12. He took my information and promised to call/email when they received it. Fast forward to last Friday. I decided to take a chance and call to see if they had received a Mach E. As good fortune would have it, someone had special-ordered a Mach E GT PE, but decided not to purchase it. I rushed over to Sunset Ford after hanging up the phone and Mike had it all ready for me to test drive. I drove it, loved it, and Mike and I talked pricing and also potential availability of the Mach E they were waiting for (a Select trim, so a significant difference in features and of course price). I left Sunset Ford to talk it over with my wife. I returned Saturday morning, drove it again, and Mike had me take it home so my wife and kids could check it out. When I got back, I worked with Mike, Justin, and team on the pricing details, trade-in valuation, etc. I again decided to leave and sleep on it. I needed to do a little more research comparing what I would and would not get in the Select trim that I was already spoiled by the GTPE. I spoke with Mike right before close on Saturday and the GTPE hadn't sold , so it was still an option. By the end of Sunday we made a decision and got everything prepped for a trip to Sunset Ford. I called Mike at open Monday morning and let him know we were coming in to purchase the Mach E GTPE, so he started the process of getting it clean and ready for us. The purchase process - the actual pricing finalization and work with Jeff on all the fine details was painless. Jeff has a good sense of humor which I'm sure anyone stressing about financing would appreciate. He also didn't pressure us to add extended coverage. He offered them, and left it at that. The longest part of the process - something that is sure to continue as tech in these vehicles keeps advancing - was setting up FordPass, making sure our account was ready to roll, and then Tim talking us through the tech in the Mach E. He also provided some really good recommendations for us getting used to driving our first EV, and the first real performance vehicle since I purchased a used first model year Lincoln LS nearly two decades ago. Let's just say there's no comparison. We're loving the Mach E, and our experience at Sunset Ford was a good one. I highly recommend them and the crew we worked with. We'll be back. More
