I called looking for a Rav4 XLE and got Dave M. I appreciated his honesty, knowledge and lack of saleperson jargon. He told me he wouldn't be in but I should see Tom M. I got there and the car they appreciated his honesty, knowledge and lack of saleperson jargon. He told me he wouldn't be in but I should see Tom M. I got there and the car they said they had "was just sold." I'll admit, I was skeptical. Had I just been lured in there with a fake car? I'm a pretty good judge of character, and believed what Tom said. He had another similar Rav4 coming in soon, so I put a deposit on that one. When I arrived to pick up my car, another salesperson who was getting coffee made polite small talk and asked me if I wanted coffee. Dave helped me and got me out of there as soon as possible. I went to Sean, who sold me an extended warranty and was knowledgeable and quick also. Even though Dave got off work at 5pm, he stayed well past then to show me all the new technology I would have had no clue on how to use or set up. I bought my last Toyota from them in 2012. Although I comparison priced with Oakdale, again, no comparison with sale people in my experience. I already know I will get my next car at Smithtown as well. (*note - I comparison priced a Honda CRV and while that one had all the bells and whistles for the same price, I don't think I'd get as much on my resale and they purposely excluded a destination charge and some other bull fee, totally $1,300. Smithtown Toyota's only fees were $75 for processing and expected motor vehicle fees) More
