I appreciated working with our salesperson and think the car will be solid. I'm giving a low overall rating because of the final costs. First, the total taxes and fees are far higher than what I've paid els car will be solid. I'm giving a low overall rating because of the final costs. First, the total taxes and fees are far higher than what I've paid elsewhere, and they significantly drive up the sticker price. Of course, a good bit of this is state-mandated taxes and fees (1604.75 for us), but the dealer also charged non-mandated fees (399.87 for us) and added on a $362 road hazard warranty without asking if we wanted it. Second and relatedly, the communication regarding these fees was poor. The salesperson came back with the final price but gave no indication of what that included or whether anything was declinable. We only saw the details when we were with the business manager, and at that point it's a hassle to negotiate. I take responsibility, as I could have been a savvier buyer, asking more questions and reading more carefully. But the dealer could also be much more up-front and thorough about these mark-ups. More
