Horrible Experience I purchased a 2014 Nissan Altima from Melvin on 05/06/2017. Melvin and I quickly agreed upon a price and I took the car to Serra Nissan for a pre-purc I purchased a 2014 Nissan Altima from Melvin on 05/06/2017. Melvin and I quickly agreed upon a price and I took the car to Serra Nissan for a pre-purchase inspection. Serra Nissan advised the car needed front and back brakes. Birmingham Luxury Motors (BLM) agreed to send the car to Serra Nissan for them to complete the brake job. I was told that I would drop the car off and they would give me a loaner car for the day and they would take the car to Serra for the brake job. I called BLM on the following Monday to schedule my break job and Stephanie (the office manager) told me I could drop my car off at 8:30a.m. that Wednesday and my loaner car would be ready. I explained to her I had to be in and out quickly because I had to go to work. She assured that swapping my car out with the loaner car would be a seamless transaction. I arrived at the dealership on Wednesday morning at 8:15 a.m. and the gate was locked. I called the dealership twice and the second time Tracey answers the phone. She opens the gate and lets me in-but when we get into the office she bluntly asked me why I was there..... she had not been informed that I had an appointment that morning so no loaner car was ready and I ultimately was late for work. Tracey gave me a loaner car that smelled like smoke and had no gas in it. I was supposed to get my car back that evening after work but Melvin called me and said they ran behind and they did not get a chance to take my car for the brake job. I informed him the loaner car had no gas and smelled really bad so he told me to return the car and he would swap it out for me. It took two days for the dealership to get the brake job done. I got my car back Friday and everything seemed okay. Fast forward to today 05/16/2017- While driving to work on the freeway this morning my rear passenger wheel began to make a horrible grinding sound. I thought I had a flat tire and I was driving on my rim. I pulled over to inspect my tire and it looked fine and I did not see the source of the grinding noise. After work I picked up my child and made it to Firestone around 6:15p.m. at this point the car sounded like it was falling apart. The manager said the brakes looked fine and he could not visibly see they source of the grinding noise so he would have to put it up on the rack. The source of the noise was the caliper about to fall off because one of the screws was missing and the other screw was about to fall out. I was advised if the second screw fell out that my passenger wheel would have locked and the results could have been tragic since I travelled on the freeway twice today. It was pure negligence on the part of whoever installed my brakes. The manager also mentioned that the other screws on the other caliper were barely screwed on as well. We could not imagine that Serra Nissan would so such horrible work. I attempted to reach Serra's service department but they were closed so I called Melvin to explain the situation. Firestone closes at 7:00p.m. but they stayed open to locate the screw needed to secure my caliper but they were unable to find one so my car was inoperable and I was stuck at firestone until 8:30p.m. at night ( I was there over two hours) with a hungry and irritable five year old. Melvin assured me that Tracey would bring me a loaner car out to me in 15 to 20 mins.... It took one hour. The kind manager at Firestone stayed open an extra hour and a half (and almost had to take me home so my child and I would not be stranded). I asked Tracey when she got there about the brake job Serra supposedly performed I was then advised a "third party" did my break job not Serra Nissan. I am livid at the blatant dishonesty of this dealership and would not recommend them to anyone. I am disgusted that I was mislead and that my child and I were put in danger because this dealership wanted to save a few bucks on a brake job. Clearly integrity is not a priority and I will never patronize them again and will use a refutable dealership when I decide to purchase a car again. The business transaction went smoothly but everything after that has been short of a nightmare. Not only do I have to pay Firestone for the service on my car I also need to find a new passenger wheel because it is scratched up very badly. I wish I never purchased this vehicle from Birmingham Luxury Motors. More
