Dealing with the salesman was no issue. My big issue became checking my numbers, which was totally my fault after I left the dealership. I was dealing with some personal things so I was in a rush, not doing my due diligence clearly. Once I realize the issue I sent an email I was contacted by sales manager I believe Dave or Dan don’t quote me on that. I explained my issue with the vehicle that I purchased was listed at $24,000 and some change. The vehicle I traded in allegedly they gave me $13,000 and some change for it. That would roughly equal to $11,000. Then there were taxes the regular fee fees which during our conversation we both agreed would add up to about $3000. There was some Care package that was allegedly included given to me at a cost of zero dollars. So what basic mathematical knowledge that would roughly equate to about $15,000 I was charged $18,000. Looking back through my contract I see where I was charged the $3000 for this ““ free package that was given to me. The conversation with the sales manager was respectful vocally, but the undertones came off a bit patronizing and condescending. For instance, telling me that the sales person should have put the $3000 added to the price of the car instead of where it was listed that I paid the $3000 for the Care package. And if I want I could come in and he could redo it. A $24,000 car does not become a $27,000 car that was a very insulting to the intelligence. This man thinks I lack. Saying you discounted a car you can’t discount something that was listed at $24,000 and because I know right looking over my contract and brought it to your attention to imply, you would change the contract and add the $3000 to the price of the car is just downright disrespectful and insulting into my intelligence. This is a dealership where over these last few years my household alone has purchased at least five cars. I live 35 to 40 minutes away from the dealership. I passed dozens of dealerships dozens of service centers to make it there being a loyal customer. That will be no more. The ethical thing would be to refund me my $3000 and not insult me on what the vehicle cost and what I should have paid. It’s a $3000 lesson that I’ve learned that loyalty means nothing to some businesses. The bottom line will always be the dollar. So I will no longer do any business with Toyota of Tampa Bay. My family will not purchase another vehicle I will not do another Servicing. I passed too many other businesses that I could spend my money at to end up somewhere that doesn’t respect me as a customer and customer loyalty means nothing to them. It was an unfortunate and expensive lesson that I had to learn, but my money will be better spent elsewhere. More
