On Tue. May 23,2022 I took my 2015 Honda Fit to Crown Honda in Pinellas Park to get my a/c diagnosed and repaired because it was blowing hot air. Brooks a se May 23,2022 I took my 2015 Honda Fit to Crown Honda in Pinellas Park to get my a/c diagnosed and repaired because it was blowing hot air. Brooks a service advisor told me my compressor was leaking and needed to be replaced after all they don't last forever he said. So since they had one there, I had it done and the air worked. On Thur., June 9th the air was no longer cold so another appt. was made for Tues., June 14th. Another Service Advisor Zachary Ruppert helped me this time, so I had to explain everything to him and he said they would check the whole system out again so I waited and became a little frustrated and asked to speak to the manager. John the manager listened and ignored all of his many calls and other interruptions for me. This Crown Honda has been the only place servicing my car since I bought it used in 2015 from another dealership. John said he would personally check on the progress which he did. The diagnosis was that an expansion valve was needed, it was ordered and installed and paid for by them on Thurs. July 16th (my choice). My air worked but it made a noises and smelled then died on Friday June 17th. Another appointment was made for Tues. June 21. On Monday I called Honda Corporate to file a complaint against this Crown Honda because although they are nice people, I truly didn't believe they had the ability to diagnose and fix Honda cars. They put my complaint on hold until after my appointment to which I agreed. On Tues. June 21st, I was asked to leave my car with them and they put me in a rental for free. I was also told by Zachary my service advisor that there are many components to the a/c system and when they find something wrong they fix that component then retest, and continue this process until the problem is solved. I don't buy that. I expect Honda to be able to properly diagnose and repair Honda vehicles, otherwise I would have went to Joe Smo a/c repair. So far I've been treated kindly and I wanted to trust the process. Wednesday June 22nd I got a call from Zac, the evaporator is bad and needs to be replaced. This is an expensive and time consuming repair so my car will not be ready until Friday June 24th. The rental is extended but I did opt to pay the walk away insurance for the rental out of pocket. On Saturday June 25th I picked up my car which had been tested and is still blowing cold air. There are no strange smells or noises. Sunday morning my neighbor said my lights had been on all night. I checked and the brake lights would not turn off. After applying a youtube fix of duct tape and a penny, I made an appointment with Crown Honda and found out that my brake switch had failed, I paid to have it changed out. It's July 15, 2022 and all is well. I am retired so it was much easier for me to be patient and trust the process with them. My family has owned three Honda's, 2 have needed a/c compressor repairs within 8 years, 2 have needed brake switches, 1 2015 Civic bought new currently needs a power window motor, and needed the starter replaced after 8 years. All the cars were bought new or within the years in which they were made. While I am thinking of trading my Fit in for a Mazda 3, I can't seem to do it eventhough I am offered almost as much as I paid for it 8 years ago. I like my Fit, the size, power and gas mileage is unmatched even to date. Plus I would miss Crown Honda Pinellas Park and all the staff that give their all. More
