Thank you for your feedback. Not sure what your review actually means? Does your review mean that you purchased a 2020 Toyota Corolla from us? Was the vehicle purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle or was it sold "as is?" When was the purchase made and what does the $1400 charge for struts and oil change signify?
I had an excellent experience at Toyota of Hackensack,
the staff was good and professional.

registration and title fees. I was overcharged and I am entitled to a refund and no one is responding. The finance manager has been unhelpful

Thank you for your feedback. We checked with our DMV Clerk and on both your January and August purchase, you were charged exactly what we were charged for plates and registration. On what basis are you claiming that we overcharged you for DMV?

Toyota of Hackensack responded
So the refund issued in January of this year was partly because, our documentation fee changed to $499.00 from $449.00. The website was showing as $449.00. Even though was a clear disclaimer on the bottom that is still displayed today: "Published price subject to change without notice to correct errors or omissions or in the event of inventory fluctuations." The fee printed on NJ registration does not includes dealertrack fees charged to every dealership for processing of plates and registration. As an example, similar to your purchase with a instate trade and transfer of plates:
Registration Fee $4.50
Temp Fee $5.50
Title Fee $60.00
Trade in Title Fee $10.00
Lien Fee $25.00
----------------------
Total $105.00
We issued the refund as a one-time courtesy. There is no refund due for motor vehicles/registration on your second purchase.

I got a refund in January for the overcharged price. I have the emails from Steve Escobar and my check was sent to me in the mail.
Where is my refund for August? The receipt from the dmv is different than what’s on the contract. The numbers do not match. I sent Mike the documents showing the discrepancy. Mike doesn’t answer my calls or respond via email. Please mail me my refund.

I received 2 refunds in January! One for the doc fee and the other was for the overcharge of registration because I transferred my plates.
Now here in August, I didn’t transfer plates or trade in a vehicle. I should’ve been charged only $396.00 total but instead you charged me $610.79. These were my charges $401.50+11.85+$7.50+184.94. I’m due a refund of $209.79. You add on additional fees that were unwarranted and don’t disclose all info in person. You’re in the wrong just refund me my money. I was told that this time around things would be different. My mistake for believing your salesmen. It’s very sad because I need to purchase another vehicle for a family member but I learned my lesson and won’t be returning here for good no matter what story your salesmen cook up.

That is incorrect. Here is your breakdown
$401.49 (motor vehicle/title lien)
$11.85 (NJCar Processing)
$7.50 (Nj Tire Tax)
$182.63 (NJ Supplemental Tax/Luxury Tax) (for reference: https://www.nj.gov/treasury/taxation/luxury.shtml)
---------------------------------
Total $603.47
Hope this provide clarity. We appreciate your patience in this matter.

I screenshotted your previous reply which showed $610.79 and now I see that it’s been edited to say $603.47. I’m disputing that the amount I was charged on the contract is different from my dmv receipt. You guys didn’t disclose a dealer trac fee. In addition my receipt from the NJ DMV including registration, title, and etc was $396. The DMV charged me $311 for registration alone. You guys charged me $401.50 for registration alone and then added on additional charges. It could be a $20 difference for all I care but it’s the principle that matters. Someone could’ve called me to walk through these charges but instead I get told to call the number on the back when there is no number on the back. That’s extremely unprofessional!

about the vehicles. I did not encounter a single person who was able to answer my questions about features on the the car. I live in Manhattan and have the opportunity to visit many Toyota dealerships within a short drive. So, before I chose to visit your dealership, I looked up the car I was interested in on your dealership's website to find out how many you had currently in stock. The website told me that 9 cars were in the "available inventory" list. However, when I arrived, the associate told me she was unsure if any were in stock or available.
She seemed to need to pull some strings to get us the opportunity to test drive a single model, but she did not come with us on the drive. I was excited to learn what kind of features the new Toyota's have, since I haven't bought a new car in 6 years or so. However, she did not offer any information or seem excited to tell me about the car. I directly asked her to tell me about the car and its features, and she offered to print me out a spec sheet "if I wanted." I never received this printout. I ended up purchasing the car because I do believe I got a very reasonable price. The associate left me waiting to talk to the accountant for an hour. The accountant was professional and fast, but could not offer me any additional information on the toyota care and told me to simply consult my users manual for questions. After the transaction, a different associate was given to me to show me around the features of the car. He insisted I download the app without mentioning that it would cost money after a month trial period. When I asked him how much it cost, he gave me incorrect information, and did not know about the promotional offers that you offer (I found those later online myself). He had no idea what any of the buttons or features on the wheel were and even resorted to reading the owners manual to me while I sat next to him in the car. He was kind and well meaning, but kept explaining to me that he was "still learning." I eventually just thanked him so I could go home, but I still don't know how to use the cruise control, and I only found out about the lane departure assist and other features from reading the manual myself. I can't turn on my FM radio or change my speaker settings and the bass is turned all the way up. While going through the glove compartment, I found a "new vehicle delivery checklist" that is empty and unmarked. No one went through this with me. Reading this, I have a comprehensive list of all the things that were not done. Do i have Sirius radio? Do I not? How does it work? I'm not sure what my maintenance schedule is, or when I should first bring it back. They did not even give me information on their service department, but you can be sure I will not be coming back for service having this mediocre experience with the sales. I appreciate the smiles, but I can only hope that with more training of the staff on the cars they are trying to sell, that future customers will have a better experience.
