My vehicle has been in and out the shop the past two months and today I find out my transmission still does not shift correctly. I'm not sure if the mechanic working on my truck is competent. My 2015 Ford Fusion was towed to this dealership almost 2 mos ago, still has not been repaired, and is nondrivable. I was told the part was on backorder. However, Banister Ford claims to be committed to its customers satisfaction and takes pride in it's customer service. Unfortunately, this has been a horrific experience for me since I have no vehicle at all to drive and the service team at Banister Ford, Marlow Hgts, MD does not seemed to care enough about discussing some type of accommodation. Brought my 2019 Expedition to the dealership to diagnose the check engine/Misfire issue that was presented. After the diagnosis, was complete, I was told that it's an issue (spark plugs and coils replaceme the check engine/Misfire issue that was presented. After the diagnosis, was complete, I was told that it's an issue (spark plugs and coils replacement) which I had done by Bannister just under two years prior. The work is guaranteed up to 12k miles, and I was just under 300 miles beyond. What I find frustrating is I had the initial work done there and now I find myself having to pay for them to do it again. I understand the limits of warranty work and wouldn't expect for certain items to be covered forever, but it doesn't resonate with the 'We care about our loyal customers and their satisfaction' message that Ford and this dealership put out there. Ultimately, it doesn't come accross as Bannister and by extension Ford, truly stand behind the quality of their work or I wouldn't have to pay for this service twice in less than 2 years. Also, the vehicle was purchased brand new in December 2019 so now that I've had to have this corrected twice since I've owned it, I'm now concerned that either the quality of the work is not what it is professed to be or there is a defective issue that I as the customer will have to continue fixing. I own two Ford vehicles (2019 Expedition and 2019 Explorer) and exclusively reserve all service to be performed for Bannister as a show of customer loyalty, however it doesn't seem that I get that type of response as evidenced by this action. After accepting that I had no other option but to pay for the service repair again, I was also informed that Bannister Ford now charges a 3% fee for using a credit card. Basically, Bannister has decided that unless it's cash or debit, the cost of using the most widely utilized manner of money transaction in the world should now be passed onto to it's valued customers. I was contemplating purchasing a Ford F150, however with my most recent experience, I'm very dissapointed and am very unlikely to give more of my money towards the purchasing of another Ford vehicle, which ultimately will decrease my need for servicing in the future. More

Banister Ford is quite attentive in correcting the problems with the vehicle identified by the customer. The timeliness in making the repairs is excellent upon making an appointment. Although the service was good, I am a 73-year-old senior, and a week later the cap on my oil popped off while I was driving the 495 at 60 miles an hour. I heard a pop and thought it was my wheel. When I reached my destination Silver Spring, MD, my engine was smoking. I looked beneath the hood after trying to find out how to open the hood!!!! only to see the cap was off and oil was spilling all over the engine. I called AAA to bring some oil and they do not provide that service. I had to get a ride to the Auto Zone to buy oul. I purchased two quarts of Valvoline Oil for $22.00 and poured the oil into the hole. I did find the cap, fortunately. laying on the engine. I was lucky and blessed. This is the second time the cap was not secured in my van. One other incident was my tires were not rotated as indicated in my invoice and when I mentioned it, I was asked "How do you know the tires were not rotated" I said I always mark them. I am an AARP Driver Safety Instructor. I am also an AARP Frau Network team member who notifies participants to watch for fraud and scams when dealing with any service. I am requesting reimbursement of the $22.00 or credit for my next oil change service and notification to all service members to complete their tasks as stated on the invoice and not take advantage of Maryland's senior population. We should receive what is indicated and pay for it. THE CAP ON MY OIL CONTAINER WAS NOT TIGHTENED, IT POPPED OFF DURING DRIVING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME. MY TIRES WERE NOT ROTATED, AS I MARK MY TIRES AND TAKE A PICTURE OF THE TIRES WHEN I ARRIVE FOR SERVICE. From the beginning they had the wrong vin number. I asked them to repair the brake light switch and it was never fixed.
