Carmax discriminates against FARMERS and AG PRODUCERS, buyer beware! They will gladly accommodate a tax exempt sale for other orgs including Government agencies, Military, Religious Orgs, Native American buyer beware! They will gladly accommodate a tax exempt sale for other orgs including Government agencies, Military, Religious Orgs, Native American Reservations, but they will not sell to FARMERS. They wasted over a month of my time while I had paid to have a vehicle shipped from one of their locations into my local store. They then refused to accommodate my exemption. This is 100% legal in my state and I provided the form name they needed to finish the sale. They simply refused because they had no option for it in their picklist and it would mess up their “internal auditing” process. Their “executive” team refused to look into this as well. Unclear if they ever got the message, I never had a reply from a real executive at the company. Poor service, poor management, and a really PR bad look for them to not make legal tax exempt sales with Farmers and Producers, especially given our economic climate. In addition, while I waited for the vehicle to be transported in locally they reduced my tradein value by $1000.. while their competitor increased the value to surpass theirs by $4k. This is a bait and switch company that has no integrity and questionable ethics, avoid them. More
I paid $250 to have a car shipped to my local CarMax outlet. The car arrived with substantial damage where something heavy had been dropped on it, denting the front of the roof and breaking the windshie outlet. The car arrived with substantial damage where something heavy had been dropped on it, denting the front of the roof and breaking the windshield. I did manage to get them to repair the vehicle, but the repair was terrible. It was done with "touch up paint" and there was still a visible dent. They refused to discount the price and also refused to refund my shipping fee. Also, the stuff on their web site about all the quality checks and detailing is xxxxxxxx. My salesman was as surprised as I was by the damage, and the interior of the car was very dirty. They evidently use the cheapest means possible to ship these cars, using a third party. Don't do it ! I bought my car in Des Moines, IA but it didn’t have that choice from list of dealerships. Probably because it was absolutely the worst experience of my life & have not 1 positive thing to say about that pla choice from list of dealerships. Deceptive dealership! ! We did an online appraisal of our 2020 (Mint condition) G70 Turbo Elite AWD fully-loaded Genesis with only 26k miles and received a low-ball offer ! We did an online appraisal of our 2020 (Mint condition) G70 Turbo Elite AWD fully-loaded Genesis with only 26k miles and received a low-ball offer of $27,000. We took it to a nearby CarMax to have the price verified and then sent away for the car title as we went on a two-week cruise. Upon return, we went back to CarMax with title in hand and they said they had to appraise the car again. I thought... "great, maybe this time they'll give us a more reasonable offer". Nope! apparently if you're not ready to accept their offer CarMax has some formula that will depreciate the value of your car by some percent. In our case, it depreciated by $2,000 in less than 3-weeks!!! I would understand if due to supply and demand, there was a glut of pre-owned 3-yr old Genesis' in perfect condition arrive in the market but No just the opposite. You can't find a luxury vehicle in Indianapolis for under $35k (and you're offering $25k???) that's lower than KBB Black Book value - especially a car that cost me $45k new! I was warned about CarMax but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Stay away. Stay away. Stay away. Deceptive practices at hand. More
The sales person excellent she was so nice so willing to work with me, but they didn’t give me the car for my husband credit , we got a better car in another dealer with no problem using only my husband inf work with me, but they didn’t give me the car for my husband credit , we got a better car in another dealer with no problem using only my husband information . Terrible experience with this company! Went online to get approved from them and reserved a truck from them, in hopes to pick up this vehicle the next day i was bummed to find out that the Went online to get approved from them and reserved a truck from them, in hopes to pick up this vehicle the next day i was bummed to find out that they sold the vehicle out from under us and our credit took a 75pt hit from them. We were then told that we had to rerun our credit to get approved on another vehicle and that it wouldn't affect the score, however that was a lie because my score dropped another 30 points for two more hits! I'm pissed at how they lie and treat customers like cattle. They only care about themselves and nothing else. I would never recommend them to anyone and they should be out of business. All in all we ended up getting a vehicle from Annapolis Subaru from Emily there and she was AMAZING , we were financed, the same day, she was thorough and very communicative and i felt very pleased with the experience I received as this is how it should have been. Buyer Beware of CarMax do not use them, their service was and is terrible in my opinion. The reviews everywhere online speak for themselves! The manager told me at Winchester, VA site he would be sure to personally call me and email me in regards to this issue. Stephen is also a liar as i never heard from the guy again , just blew me off and had zero FKS to give to me as a veteran of the USMC , he said, we take care of our military and service members, that was a lie. Just like all the others, If A clean cut professional well trained salesman who invested in himself with credentials of past sales and satisfied customers comes through their employment screen, they will well trained salesman who invested in himself with credentials of past sales and satisfied customers comes through their employment screen, they will not even consider because of the age of 40 being too much for them. So instead they like all the rest will get non professional kids who never invested in themselves who they can try to mold. Welcome to the downfall of the auto sales consultant industry. As a professional salesman, I will never deal with a non professional at any place I go. More
