He is among the best. Tracked down a rare supercharged Jag for me, transferred it in, sold it, and honored all my requests during 30 day warranty. Cars are reasonably priced, off NADA and market value. Not the cheapest, but certainly in line with private sellers. Warranty is bullet proof. Buy It! Can have $100K car with 5 yr warranty for $30K! Dealers don't even offer that on their own brands! Kevin/ Sales and Valerie / Service are my two Dulles, VA CarMax heroes! Both exemplify courteous, professional customer service. Enjoyed the process so much, brought my best friend out for a look. She also bought a SUV and couldn't be happier! More

We ended up just digging it out and popping it back in place. They back window button didn't work, so we had to control it from the front. The transmission went out the beginning of April. We had to pay $250, which was our deductible to get our car back from aamco. They gave us a rental and made us pay $40 for the eighth day even though our car wasn't finished because the rental is only for the 7 days. If you are ready to come out of pocket for repairs then buy from carmax!!! A guy actually told me that I wouldn't believe how many carmax customers tell him stories about their cars having problems 2 to 3 months after buying. I just wish I would've read the reviews before buying. More

I called in on Monday and I had my car within a couple of days with the keys in my hand. My concern was that I wouldn't be approved by a bank due to my poor credit but my consultant assured me that I will and shockingly I was approved by 4 banks. He really worked hard for me and it wasn't overwhelming at all. My car is in good condition interior wise, has a few scratches but nothing too major. Service department are excellent!!!!! Heard some strange noise in the car whenever I brake, I called them Thursday and took my car in the next day, they gave me a car to loan and within hours they was done, free of charge. They really know their stuff and was very friendly and welcoming. I will highly recommend Carmax to anyone interested in purchasing a car especially the branch in Sterling, VA. Jim Fleckenstein was my consultant and Jack Fox was the one who serviced my car. More
Stole parts off of my truck San Antonio, Tx. Car Max Took my Tacoma in for an estimate - was thinking about selling it to Car Max. Had heard they paid better than dealers offe San Antonio, Tx. Car Max Took my Tacoma in for an estimate - was thinking about selling it to Car Max. Had heard they paid better than dealers offer on trade-in. Was offered $4500. I got that offer from a dealer. So much for the offer. What bothered me was the next morning I started the truck and heard a bad belt screech. I popped the hood and found the a/c belt to be very loose. Further examination revealed part of the a/c belt tensioner system was missing? I had checked all of this a few days before taking it in to Car Max. The truck has been meticulously cared for by me for its entire life. I later learned that this part is used on many different Toyota models and that Car Max does auto service work. I suppose they were working on a car that needed this item so they took mine. Whoever did this pulled the a/c compressor back some to tighten the belt and then just snugged down the tensioner bolt enough to hold it snug for a short while. The tightening rod and bracket were missing. Had to special order from dealer. Likely another reason they took mine. Not an item that dealers keep on the shelf. Was thinking about taking another car I own in to them for an appraisal, but after this, I am not at all comfortable with going back to Car Max for anything. Hope this does not happen to you More

Not only did I have three issues covered under 125+ point inspection. But my transmission blew out on the highway in rush hr traffic! So now it's been 20 DAYS and I still don't have a my car! And the loner is worse of that my car! SHOP AT CARMAX AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! More

His personality and attitude were extremely influential in my decision to visit the showroom. From the time my husband and I walked into the showroom until we purchased our vehicle, Fred was very pleasant, flexible and wonderful to work with. He was cognizant of our needs and did everything possible to ensure those needs were met. We left completely satisfied, as well as feeling that we had made a new friend. Thanks, Fred, for everything! I was underwhelmed, to say the least by my experience with Carmax of Orlando. Although the sales consultant was kind, and tried to be helpful- the whole process was a joke. I brought in a vehicle that is in great condition and the miles are really low. The exact same car is on the Carmax website selling for $15,999. They offered me $6,000. Don't waste people time like that, its insulting. I am not even keeping the money that is going to be made from this car. I am one person, and have three vehicles, I was just trying to downsize a bit. The only thing I can figure is that these people, and places like it capitalize on people who are down and out and need emergency cash. I was considering buying from carmax for my two upcoming teen drivers, but now would never support them with my business. I wish I had my day back that I wasted. More

CarMax of Irvine, CA. I went in with my step daughter on CarMax of Irvine, CA. I went in with my step daughter on Saturday 1-4-14, she purchased a ford explorer for $10,900 she paid the down payment in CASH CarMax of Irvine, CA. I went in with my step daughter on Saturday 1-4-14, she purchased a ford explorer for $10,900 she paid the down payment in CASH, Dave the sales person said they use "Edmunds" in lieu of "Kelly Blue Book", when we went to the credit union to finance the ford, they said the Kelly blue book rated the explorer for $8,000 (they overpriced the vehicle by $2,900). So we took it back to CarMax the next day. We worked with Steve Shelley with the return process: they returned her down payment in the form of a wire transfer check from "Well Fargo". I explained my concern more than once on the fact that we paid CASH and we did not want a check that the bank would hold for 5 to 7 days and Steve assured (promised) me that I could deposit the wire transfer into my account that day and the money would be in my account the next day!! Not so, my bank wants to put a hold on it for 7 DAYS!!, I called CarMax and talked to the manager (of the day) Kim and she said that it's a Liability for them to give cash back to a customer (even though I paid in cash) and they always return in the form of a wire transfer. Now they have tied my hands behind my back and my daughter can't get a vehicle until this check clears and if it doesn't then the saga will continue!!!This is utterly ridicules!!! CARMAX employees are liars, cheats and deceitful!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CARMAX........ More
