Repeat Customer I wanted to take this opportunity to share my satisfaction with Joe Machen's Toyota. I converted to Toyotas several years ago and since that time I h I wanted to take this opportunity to share my satisfaction with Joe Machen's Toyota. I converted to Toyotas several years ago and since that time I have remained loyal to this dealership, but also my salesman, Rafael Romero. Most recently I purchased a Toyota Highlander for my wife and leased a Toyota Avalon for myself. Both of these experiences were highlighted by Rafael's professionalism and exemplary support. My wife feels he has a special ability to listen and understand what we want in a vehicle. He then is able to locate the perfect vehicle for our wants and needs. He is always courteous and supportive. Since I began shopping with Rafael, I have also take my two adult children to purchase vehicles with Rafael's assistance. He located the perfect vehicle on both occasions and made sure I, as a parent, had nothing to worry about. I wanted to recognize Rafael for his efforts. I should add, Jeff Simmons has also been very helpful in arranging the financing for our purchases. More

I have been in Columbia since the late 1950’s, except during my military service with the Marines and my college days at Eastern Universities. Usually I don’t care to patronize large businesses, since some of them seem to have an attitude. That was not case with the personal of Machens Toyota. Nathan Akpan is a not only an outstanding and professional salesman, but a customer service representative and as such; he easily makes friends with his customers. I went there looking for a car and wasn’t sure whether I would purchase one at Machens Toyota or once again go to the St. Louis area, where I have been purchasing my cars. Nathan was very personable and knowledgeable, and found the right car for me that fulfilled my needs both financial and practical. He got me an excellent deal in a 2014 Toyota Avalon. The financial Manager Jeff Rackers was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, ethical, also a veteran . Peter Herman, Customer Services was excellent explaining to me all the features of my new car, warranties, scheduled maintenance, how to set up some of the electronic features of my new car, Introduced me to Jim Sublett the Assistant Service Manager, who also answered some of my questions about scheduled maintenance. Thank you to all of you, for a great experience, I got an Excellent Product at a Great Price and deal with very helpful and friendly Machens Toyota personnel (Nathan, Jeff, Peter and Jim). The Machen’s team I met is outstanding, thank you for build such a great customer oriented team. You all provide excellent service. I will not hesitate to come back for service and future purchases. Since my wife was not able to be with me, I had to convey the provided information to her for her input as this was going to be a significant investment and would be something that we would keep for quite awhile. I appreciated Jim's patience and the fact that he did not use "pressure" sales techniques. He appears to really know his merchandise and does come across as someone who wants to help you any way he can to make your vehicle shopping experience pleasant and not stressful. I would recommend him to friends who might be interested in purchasing a new Toyota vehicle. More

My 2004 RAV 4 with 109,250 miles had a good run but it was past time to consider a newer model. I always want to keep a Toyota RAV 4 in my garage. The entire sales time from Sales Manger, Mike to the Finance Manager, Ricardo, to Jim Ellis the best salesman I've ever dealt with - they were all the best. I give Machens Toyota and the team they have on board a 10+ rating (on a scale from 1 to 10) Next time you need to consider a new vehicle, you can't beat Jim and Machens Toyota in Columbia, MO. More
car STOLEN from dealership lot while being serviced My car was stolen from this lot on May 2014. Legally, the dealership is not responsible for this occuring (as you do sign a document when you leave My car was stolen from this lot on May 2014. Legally, the dealership is not responsible for this occuring (as you do sign a document when you leave your car there stating: if your vehicle is "lost or damaged" they are not liable), which is understandable to some degree. That being said, however: 1) They parked my car where they did not have any cameras so police had nothing to work on. 2) They left the door unlocked while being parked in this area that did not have any surveillance. 3) The management there was not accommodating at all. I had to literally argue/yell/debate and repeatedly express my hardship with my newfound lack of transportation in order to convince them I needed to hold their loaner car while my insurance resolved my stolen vehicle claim. After many stressful phone calls during work and emails, I was able to obtain this accommodation. Unfortunately, my story doesn't end here: After closing out my claim from my insurance. I returned their car, which they reulctantly loaned to me, 4) Management claimed that there was hail damage to the car that was not there when I was given the loaner car. They told me that they would be contacting my insurance company to get the money and that was that. They never gave me a walk-through prior to handing the keys to the loaner car to me. Instead- they handed me a document and had me sign at the highlighted areas. Of the signatures/initials, one stated the car was in perfect condition. I do accept fault in not reading it all prior to signing, but one would think a respectable company would at least offer a walk-through or describe the contents of a document. If I would've accepted their explanation, they would've been able to skim out more money from me and my insurance company. (Imagine a surgeon saying he took your kidneys out when you signed for a nose job without any explanation of why he never explained the need to remove your kidneys). It's not acceptable here- and it shouldnt be acceptable anywhere else. True: There was hail damage to the car, but it did not happen while the car was in my possession. After demanding they look into it further, after refusing to leave without a reasonable explanation, and after proving to them that there was no hail storm while the car was in my possession, they THEN decided to look at their "other list" and determined the car already had hail damage. As a doctor at the University hospital, I find this shockingly unacceptable and disgraceful. More
