My Review of Koons Falls Church Ford:
Don’t get too WOW’d about Koons Ford in Falls Church. In a recent car purchase and trade, we were told the “WOW” price was the lowest possible sale price for the used vehicle we purchased – so no give on the WOW price. On the trade – a luxury vehicle in excellent condition – we were low-balled (below the blue book “trade-in” value) on a claim that the ‘market for the car was real bad and they likely would have to sell it to dealer of that make car and would lose money’. So imagine our surprise when the very next week, we see the car we traded in on the Koons Ford web site with a “WOW” price that was $4,000 above what we were given in the trade! And it doesn’t stop there! When we took the newly purchased used car back for the few items that needed repair (that were agreed to at the time of sale), the level of service we experienced was a complete fiasco – ranging from completely incorrect service log in, to total non responsiveness from every part of the dealership when we tried to find out what was actually being done to the car, to incomplete and faulty repairs on the few items that needed to be fixed. Only after sending a detailed letter of complaint to Koons corporate headquarters were we ultimately able to work through most of the repairs (one was and remains completely botched, however) to the newly purchased used car. Moral of the story, Buyer Beware – don’t get WOW’d about Koons Ford in Falls Church.

My Review of Koons Falls Church Ford:
Soufiane really took the time to help me out and get me into a great used car that was exactly what I was looking for. Besides the help from him on all of the options on the car, the dealership took care of everything I needed, got me a great price, and a great rate on financing. Overall, this was an excellent buying experience!

My Review of Koons Falls Church Ford:
I bought my first car at Koons Ford and I couldn't have had a better experience. The sales person with whom I worked, Brian, was both friendly and knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend him. When it came to price, the finance department offered a fair and reasonable price, and were willing to work within my range. Overall, it was an excellent experience. I highly recommend this dealership.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Randy Craig, Sam Tabil

My Review of Koons Falls Church Ford:
I went to Koon's Ford to purchase a used car the end of January. This was my first time to visit Koon's. I was met in the parking lot by Sam who immediately welcomed me. He did not wait for me to approach him. He listened to what I wanted and then he made the deal happen. I would recommend Sam to everyone.

The car that I chose needed to have some work done to it before I could take it home. Randy Craig worked out all of details so that I could have a courtesy vehicle to use until my car was ready. Randy coordinated all of the service and repairs that needed to be done. After I received the car, there were still a few things that needed to be fixed. Randy once again made it happen. I hope that Koon's realizes that Randy is a great asset and without him, they will lose business. He gets things done and makes things happen. Randy, I appreciate your assistance.

If you ever buy a used car from Koon's Ford, always work with Randy and Sam. They are the best.

Employee(s) Dealt With: DJ Bruce and Jason Treadway

My Review of Koons Falls Church Ford:
Since I purchased my Ford Fusion in 2010, I have had nothing but problems. Not only mechanical – but, also with the dealership. My car shuts off while driving all the time. Additionally, it shakes and jerks. The dealership initially was responsive to my calls and concerns. For the last few months, that has not been the case. The entire situation is unacceptable.

The car has been in the shop five different times, to include today – all for the same thing as listed above. Each time, I was told they had fixed the issue. In addition, they said they would wash/fill up the gas to where I left it. This was done correct once. At one point, my car was in the shop for a month. They decided the transmission needed to be replaced – which they would do free of charge. On the day this repair was to be made, they all of a sudden changed their minds and reneged on that commitment - claiming they had found the real issue – which, as it turns, out – they did not. When I had come to pick up my vehicle, I found a pack of cigarettes in my middle console – all half smoked. Obviously, someone was smoking in my car – which should not be allowed.

Since I was getting nowhere, the Service Manager suggested I file a claim with the Ford Replacement Car program. I was told by DJ, Koon’ Sales Manager, the replacement process should take only a week. He even suggested that I should not make another payment on my vehicle. I started this claim process on December 1, 2011. I was finally sent a breakdown worksheet from Corporate, in particular, Jeff Terrell, on February 3, 2012. He stated I would need to pay nearly $6,000 up front for the used miles on my car. Also, he said in order for them to set me up with a replacement vehicle, I would have to take out another loan. I wrote him back immediately on February 3, 2012 and again today, February 7, asking how he came to that amount. I have yet to hear back from him.

I am not going through with this if that is the deal they are going to give me. This whole situation is ridiculous and unacceptable. I dropped my car off to the service center at that dealership today because I cannot drive this vehicle any longer. My service representative, Jason Treadway, set me up with a loaner. Jason now claims they can no longer give me a rental for more than 5 days. After five days, the rental will be on me. I asked why the change because they had kept my car previously trying to work on it for a month and I had a rental for a month free of charge. He stated because of the money spent on my vehicle previously. This is the final straw. It is not my fault the car is a lemon --- I should not be punished – which I feel is the case.

This car is a lemon and this whole situation has been ridiculous. I have a 4 year old daughter whom I drive to and from school daily. I purchased this vehicle because of the many safety awards it had received. Again, the car I was dealt is a complete lemon and I should be refunded – and not by me having to pay $6,000 up front. I feel I deserve an apology on all counts. Koons and Ford have treated me very unfairly. I feel as though I have been taken advantage throughout this entire process. I ask you, please, to remedy this situation immediately. Again, it is not my fault that I purchased a very unsafe car – which this one is.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Jason Tredway

My Review of Koons Falls Church Ford:
The absolutely BEST car-buying experience I've ever had. Ask for Jeff Ottenberg, who was knowledgeable, pleasant, helpful, respectful. No hassels and no issues - just a smooth transaction. That was in May 2010, when I purchased my 2011 Mustang.

Since then, I've been to the Service Department 3 times - WOW - also a great experience - the last this week. Ask for Jason Tredway - very pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable - and keeps me informed every step of the way. A plus is Koons Ford in Falls Church has a great detailing service - my Mustang looks brand new each and every time I get that done. Overall a FIVE STAR experience each and every time!

Employee(s) Dealt With: Joe Hopson

My Review of Koons Falls Church Ford:
My car had a serious issue over 200 miles from home, and luckily for me, it was towed to Koons Ford. I received exceptional service from Joe Hopson and the Koons Ford service team. The car's problem proved tricky to diagnose and repair, and Joe was extremely persistent in pursuing every possibility until 100% satisfied that the problem was fixed. He communicated with me regularly throughout the repair process and provided very complete explanations of what was going on. I received this exceptional level of customer service although I live several states away and am unlikely to be a repeat customer. I was very pleased with my experience with Koons Ford and Joe, and would highly recommend them.

Employee(s) Dealt With: Chaz Bryant

My Review of Koons Falls Church Ford:
I've owned a number of cars in my 60+ years. This is the first time I've done extenseive research, made an offer, and purchased a car without feeling pressured. After the first test drive, I did most of my communication with Koons via email. I will say that even though you think you've got the price nailed down, you don't. I still had to spend more time than I wanted in the dealership. But, everyone was professional and helpful during the process. My sales associate, Chaz Bryant, was especially personable and knowledgeable about the vehicle I was interested in (2012 Focus). He demonstrated all the features and offered to help anytime I had questions after my purchase. If you want a pleasant, low-key experience purchasing a vehicle, go talk to Chaz at Koons. Also, Sean Felder in Finance was great at finalizing the sale. I had a loan approved through my credit union, but Sean got me a better rate at a local bank.
