Sean - Yes, were looking at a pre-owned 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS. You did not have a deposit on the vehicle nor had we even discussed pricing. While you were "thinking about maybe leasing it" another client that had been into the store the night before came in with his checkbook and purchased the car. Under California law it is ILLEGAL for a dealership to "hold" a car for someone when another client has agreed to purchase the vehicle. While here, you mentioned numerous times that you are a police officer and I truly hope that you understand that we were simply following California law! To rectify the situation, we agreed to lease you a BRAND NEW 2015 CLS for the exact same payment as the pre-owned 2014. That seemed to appease you and make you happy. However, when we then negotiated the lease, you commented that it was out of your price range and you left the store. So, if the 2015 CLS was the same payment as the 2014 then how could you afford one and not the other? I'm sorry you are upset and we are still more than happy to provide you the same offer of a BRAND NEW 2015 CLS for the payment of the pre-owned 2014. As an individual that enforces the law I hope you can respect that we were simply following it. The irony of you asking our dealership to break the law to appease you does not escape me!
