I will amend this to reflect any further update. -- I leased from Patriot Subaru in Saco earlier this year, and while the staff were kind during my interactions in person, my main concerns involve their silence when notified about serious safety defects and misleading information about the vehicle’s features. Before signing, I was given information about the vehicle’s features that I later found to be inaccurate and misleading. It felt like incorrect facts were presented to persuade me into leasing the car, which has caused significant frustration and inconvenience. More importantly, however, the parking assist and driver-assist safety features are dangerously unreliable. The parking assist has nearly caused multiple collisions with parked cars - and usually does so at speed. Some might say "just don't use it" (and I don't because it doesn't work) but shouldn't it be safe and usable if they are advertising it as a feature? What's more concerning, however, is that the driver-assist system frequently and abruptly stops the vehicle in the middle of the road without warning. These serious safety defects have put me at real risk on numerous occasions, and when I reached out to the team from Patriot Subaru with my concerns they never responded. Throughout this process, I’ve done everything I can to be reasonable and patient before writing a review. I brought my concerns to the dealership in person, reached out to management in writing, and contacted Subaru’s Customer Advocacy Center. I even returned to the dealership for help using the car, only to be told things like "wait for warmer weather" and watched as a product specialist Googled how to use basic features. Despite these efforts and my generally positive experiences with the staff in person, I have not received a single response to these concerns after weeks of waiting and trying to give the team the benefit of the doubt. I’ve since learned from a former employee that the staff (during their tenure, at least) were aware of the model's issues and would even joke about how bad the parking assist feature was—while still doing whatever it took to get the car off the lot. Obviously, this is something I've learned secondhand, however it serves to validate the unsettling feeling I have about this car. Of course, many people report having great experiences here and I'm sure they have. The team is friendly. What’s most upsetting is that once something goes wrong, the dealership’s priority is not your safety—it’s protecting themselves. You will not hear back. You will be left to figure it out on your own. I thought Subaru was better than this. I can only speak to my experience, but I would caution anyone to seriously consider the risks if something goes wrong with your car. I do not recommend leasing from Patriot Subaru, unless they begin to take steps to improve transparency, safety, and customer support moving forward. I am still open to hearing back from the team and finding an amicable, fair and reasonable solution and I genuinely hope this happens. More

So imagine my excitement that I happen to purchase an Acura automobile while traveling in the tri-state of NY/NJ/CT and will have it serviced in Maine. By….the best in the business. Thank you Patriot! More
I'm not sure what is happening with the Service Department at Patriot Subaru in Saco. I have been a faithful, consistent customer of Patriot Service since I purchased my Impreza in 2017. I have b Department at Patriot Subaru in Saco. I have been a faithful, consistent customer of Patriot Service since I purchased my Impreza in 2017. I have brought my vehicle in for oil changes and required maintenance every 6 months. In 2024, my vehicle was serviced 4 times in 6 months. The first visit (January, 2024)was for an oil change when they noted I needed new front brakes, RF control arm, and RUB bushing for approx. $1100. They completed the work one week later (visit #2, also January 2024). Three months later, (visit #3, April, 2024) I brought my vehicle back to check the rear brakes which had just been replaced 2 years prior - they completed the work and offered a discount. At this time, they also did a multipoint inspection which included checking "tire wear and underbody inspection." Nothing was noted needing repair with the multipoint inspection. Visit #4, July, 2024, within this 6 month period was for a scheduled routine oil change and Maine state inspection. Since I had incurred some medical issues, my car was only driven 448 miles since the Patriot multipoint inspection was done in April. I was expecting an easy pass on the Maine state inspection. I was shocked when the service rep told me my car failed the state inspection and needed $4000 worth of work to pass.(Tires, front and rear struts, LF control arm) I gave permission for the routine oil change and sought out a second opinion for the supposed need for $4000 worth of work. The second opinion agreed I needed new tires but that was all. The bill was $769 for new tires and the inspection. I then went for a tire alignment to a regional service center. I requested that they check the front and rear struts. They confirmed what the second opinion had stated - no need to replace struts. I am very disappointed with Patriot Service. I was totally blindsided by a multipoint inspection in April that did not note tire wear or questionable "underbody inspection" then less than 3 months later and only 448 miles later I am told I needed $4000 worth of work. Not only is this the best Subaru dealership in the North East, but it's the best dealership I have ever dealt with. Patriot Subaru in Saco, Maine had an ad for a White 2024 Outback on their website, today, March 20, 2024. I called to ask if it was available for a test drive. A sales rep, Josh, told me that he was having Outback on their website, today, March 20, 2024. I called to ask if it was available for a test drive. A sales rep, Josh, told me that he was having trouble finding the car in their system. Then said it had been ordered and was not available, but that they had other Outbacks that were a similar price. When I asked if another car listed at $40K could be the same price as the "unavailable" car, I was told that it could, but it depended on how nice I sounded on the phone. I stopped and said, wait, how NICE I sounded? He said yeah. I paused and said great, thanks very much and hung up on him. Ask yourself, if I was a man, would he have had this same attitude with me? Patriot Subaru of Saco, Maine lost a long time customer and a new sale because of what happened here. More

I am thrilled to be providing a positive review of Sara, one of the sales associates at Patriot Subaru. We recently purchased a 2nd new car from her, a 2024 Subaru and I cannot express how impressed I am w one of the sales associates at Patriot Subaru. We recently purchased a 2nd new car from her, a 2024 Subaru and I cannot express how impressed I am with her service. Sara's dedication, professionalism, and expertise made this entire car buying process easy and stress-free. She and Cullen provided us with all of the necessary information, answered all questions, and gave us detailed explanations on the car's features and functionalities with great patience. During the test drive, Sara shared her knowledge and made helpful recommendations, which enabled us to make an informed decision that met our needs and preferences. Moreover, her exceptional customer service skills did not just stop there but continued even after the sale was made. She has been following up to see how the vehicle is performing and whether there were any issues or concerns that we needed help with, which demonstrates Patriot Subaru's commitment to customer satisfaction. She has gone above and beyond in assisting my Father getting his Apple iPhone provisioned with the Starlink app, and even assisting with the clunky password reset process with Apple. All in all, I would like to wholeheartedly recommend Sara and Patriot Subaru to anyone who is interested in purchasing a vehicle. Our awesome car buying experience is a testament to the dealership's reputation for delivering exceptional service, and it will continue to make Patriot Subaru the go-to place for all our vehicle needs. Patriot was completely unprepared when I came in to pick up my new car. We were just adding a car-- no trade, just buying a car. The first thing they asked me was "where is your trade?" I ordered the car up my new car. We were just adding a car-- no trade, just buying a car. The first thing they asked me was "where is your trade?" I ordered the car with a 2" hitch. Subaru does not sell a 2" OEM hitch for the Forester. David Shoemaker, the Sales Manager, did not know this. So, he ordered the car with the wrong hitch. When the car came in and I discovered the hitch did not fit, his service guys said to hit the hitch with a hammer until the 1.25" receiver popped out. The only problem with that? It was welded to the outer housing. No way was it coming off. Ultimately, they took the hitch off and put the right one one. 6 hours of my time (round trip) and they want accolades for "fixing the problem." Now for the funniest part-- The day before we were supposed to pick up our car, Shoemaker emails me and says he "forgot he was on vacation" and that he would not be there when I picked up my car. Then, later on, he tells me he was NOT on vacation-- that he just didn't come in that day. One of those statements has to be a lie. Do I know which one is? Nope. Doesn't matter. The problem is a lack of honesty, though. The deal was so screwed up, I asked to be taken off of their email distribution list shortly after we took delivery of he car. Next problem? Shoemaker e-mails me personally... again. And when I review some of my concerns about what happened a year ago, he responds by saying "I should have let you buy your car from a local dealer." Seriously? This guy is so arrogant that he thinks he directs what people buy and when they buy it? The funniest part, though, is that he was stupid enough to put this IN WRITING, to me. Keep in mind, this is the behavior of the SALES MANAGER of Patriot Subaru. If he acts like this, how do you expect his sales reps are going to act? Don't say I didn't warn you about these guys. Don't buy a car from Patriot Subaru. More
