I have reviewed your file and would like to clarify a few points. You made your initial inquiry to Planet Honda on April 10th, 2009. Our internet department diligently followed-up with you for over two months while you researched the vehicle you wanted to purchase and the market price for the vehicle. I note that our last email communication with you was on June 22, 2009 – clearly our personnel did their best to provide you with all of the information you required. I agree with you that a consumer has a right to negotiate any price he receives. However, please note that the beauty of receiving internet quotes is that they are usually extremely aggressive prices because there is no guarantee that the person receiving the quote will come in to purchase the vehicle. Consequently, there is usually very little negotiating room in those price quotes. If there was, any customer would simply take that price quote and bring it to a different dealer to be beat. We do not put “non-negotiable” on our internet quotes because there may be times that we can provide a little extra savings on an internet special. We can only provide our customers with timely responses and extremely aggressive pricing. I am sorry that you took offense to the tone of Mr. Ringler’s emails. I know he was only trying to earn your business and perhaps was a bit too eager at times. I apologize for any misunderstanding. Planet Honda remains one of the only dealerships in the country to receive Honda’s prestigious President’s Award for its outstanding sales achievement and customer satisfaction. Dear jiby28: I have reviewed your complaint regarding your recent experience at Planet Honda. I am obviously dismayed by the fact that you thought you were mistreated. Here at Planet Honda we pride ourselves on our history of superior customer satisfaction. In fact, we are one of the few recipients of Honda’s President’s Award. While we strive to ensure that every customer is satisfied, sometimes miscommunications and misunderstandings occur. We cannot always match a price quote exactly from another dealership because very often there are differences in equipment on the vehicle or the fees that other dealers charge. Consequently, while we strive to provide our customers with the best price possible there are times where another dealer will resort to various tricks and games to make it seem like their price is lower when in actuality our final transaction price may be superior.
