We have been looking to take on new leases to replace our two Japan built SUVs. Our search led us to the Ford/Lincoln dealer, SHAKER FAMILY. Our two Subaru leases came due at approximately the same time, s two Japan built SUVs. Our search led us to the Ford/Lincoln dealer, SHAKER FAMILY. Our two Subaru leases came due at approximately the same time, so the dealer made us very fine offers on the two cars we settled upon, involving each at a three-year lease: a Lincoln MKX and a Ford CMAX. Our salesperson, Ms. Cathy Reed, gave us patient and thorough attention, working very hard to get us the best deal and providing us with excellent service throughout the complicated process of ending our leases early and taking immediate delivery of these two, fine cars. She saw to every detail of the preparation of the vehicles and gave us a lot of time to learn to use the advanced electronics that come with both these cars. We are completely satisfied with her service. We were introduced to members of the Shaker family who treated us courteously and enthusiastically. Also, the Manager of the Service Department make it a point to personally discuss with us the vehicles and the services offered and available at the dealership. Customer service was great as was friendliness. The reason for the overall experience being only good had to do with the price. I was not in the mood to haggle and I thought I overpaid by $1,000. I had researched hundreds of used cars on the internet but could not make up my mind. Then a friend told me that Shaker Family Ford is a great place. I had seen a used 2007 Ford Focus on line and went th but could not make up my mind. Then a friend told me that Shaker Family Ford is a great place. I had seen a used 2007 Ford Focus on line and went there to check it out. The salesman, George Rodriguez, was incredibly patient and helpful. I told him that I could not go above a certain price and he kept going to the manager to get the car i wanted down from its listed price to a price that I could afford. A couple of weeks after purchasing the car, I felt my tires weren't holding well in the snow and I went back. George and one of the managers, Howard, went outside with me in the freezing cold to check the tires. Howard measured the tread which was above what was needed and explained that the tires are used but in good condition and very expensive, but that they are 'driving' tires with the treads going from the center outwards, but not great in the snow. Howard called the local dealer where Ford purchases their tires and set up a special deal for me - and then told me that if I decided to get new tires, he would split the cost with me. I was stunned because that was totally unexpected and is really quality service above and beyond what was necessary. Then I talked to Howard about the difference between a car that is 'certified' and one that is not and Howard assured me that all cars receive a thorough inspection at Shaker Family Ford and all are quality cars or they wouldn't sell them. Although I haven't had the car for a month, and haven't driven it far, it is performing very well so far and I have confidence, after my experience with the professionalism and the kindness of both George and Howard, that if I do have problems in the future, they will resolve them fairly and justly. I don't usually write reviews but this experience was so impressive that I felt I should let people know - trust these people. I do. More
My wife and I came to Shaker’s looking for a new car. We were working with a Danbury dealer on a gas-powered 2011 Ford Escape, and were pretty sure we would purchase it. However, I was curious what the hyb were working with a Danbury dealer on a gas-powered 2011 Ford Escape, and were pretty sure we would purchase it. However, I was curious what the hybrid was like (since neither they nor anyone in our area had one). After doing a search online, it looked like Shaker's Family Ford had two Escape hybrids in stock. To confirm, I called and as soon as Alban Saindon picked up, our excellent and very memorable customer service experience began. Al was extremely courteous and informed, had a genuine interest to help me and never once exhibited heavy sales tactics. He made me feel at ease and not rushed into a sale. Before I hung up and after I made an appointment to see him, he ended the call by letting me know that it would be his honor to help me. By the end of the day, it would end up to be our honor to be helped by such a hard working, honest, friendly and appreciative salesman. We met him that night, and took a 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid for a test drive. Throughout the drive and subsequent sales process, we could not have asked for a better salesman. I could talk at length giving numerous examples of what Al did (and didn’t do) that impressed us so much, but I will refrain in the interest of your time. In the end, he made the sale and customers for life. We were not planning on purchasing a car that night, only to see what a hybrid (with all the features I wanted) was like. It is now sitting in my garage, and I couldn’t be happier with the car or the experience buying it. After car shopping for the past few weeks, we have the experience to know the personalities of many different sales people. This is how we know that Al is one in a million. If anyone we know is in the market for a car, we will refer them ALL to Shakers and tell them to speak to Al. It is rare to kind that level of genuine, honest-to-goodness customer service in such a charismatic and personable salesman. Alban Saindon is an absolute asset to the dealership, and we look forward to purchasing out next car from him (and stopping by to see him when I get the maintenance done to my new car!). More
