We have purchased many vehicles in the past. - bambi b.
We have purchased many vehicles in the past. Today, we visited Landmark dealership in Independence with the intention of purchasing a Jeep Wrangler. We spent considerable time on the lot examining the Jeeps, but no salesperson approached us to offer assistance. Eventually, I approached the showroom to seek help. Unfortunately, the experience was unexpectedly unprofessional and uncomfortable. Our assigned salesperson was Josiah, and regrettably, this was the most disappointing sales experience we have encountered, car or other. Josiah seemed to make fun of us and used sarcasm and rudeness to make his points. All we asked for was the interest rate of the vehicle in which we were interested. He would not give us that but insisted that we drive the vehicle which we did not want to do as we already own a Wrangler and just wanted the interest rate information. We felt very disrespected and uncomfortable and even unsafe due to Josiah's confrontational attitude. Ultimately we chose to leave the dealership.
Another important detail to our interaction with Josiah was when I told Josiah my wife had changed her mind from a four door to a two door, he replied, "Yes, women do that." So unprofessional and sexist.
Additionally, we were asked to move our vehicle, which we had parked while looking at the inventory. During this interaction, Josiah was accompanied by two other staff members (as if he needed muscle backup when all we wanted to do was purchase a car) and engaged with us in a manner that we found extremely disrespectful and dismissive.
We recommend any other Jeep dealership in the area. We had a great experience at Excelsior Springs Jeep.
