Being certified is no easy task, it involves research and test taking not just on the vehicles but how other products become involved with the car. “Customers don’t just drive their cars, they interact with them. Staying on top of all of the features and how to tie it all together, from onboard computers to syncing cell phones, knowing the technology is a big part of my job."

In addition to assisting his customers find just the right car; Ernest also heads up the Scion department making sure everyone has an in depth understanding of what Scion has to offer.

Ernest and his family, originally from New Hampshire settled in the Lexington Park area upon returning to the states from Italy. Ernest and his family lived in Sardinia for four years where his wife, Tanya, was stationed in the Navy. Ernest and Tanya moved to Lexington Park in 2005, they have a daughter, Renee and a son, Derrick.

My Review of Toyota of Southern Maryland:
My experience with this dealership was remarkable. Jamie Pizzo is absolutely wonderful. What I did like about Jamie was she just let me make up my own mind and she did not continue to pressure me which we all know salespeople can sometimes be very bothersome. I believe she answered most of my concerns as of now, but I still haven't driven the car that much. I am still a little nervous about driving it, especially pulling into the garage. Ernie also was very helpful with showing me how to use my phone and offer his help later when I get a different phone. Jim was also wonderful when closing the deal, very personable. Great personality! Thanks again for such a wonderful experience with all of you. I will definitely be back but not for another 10 years for myself, I hope! But maybe when our truck dies. Thanks again for such a wonderful experience.

My Wife and I worked with Ernest Baud on more than one occasion and he was great to work with each time. He wasn't pushy and he stayed patient with us through out our indecisiveness. He was polite, energetic, informative, and thorough. He was nothing but class before and has continued to be since we made our purchase. I would highly recommend him and Toyota of Southern Maryland!

This is the second car we have bought at Southern Maryland Toyota. We asked for Ernie Baud because he was our sales consultant previously. He is friendly, helpful and a generally pleasant person with whom to do business. When we deal with Ernie we feel that we are not rushed into making a decision,and our questions are answered as much as possible. John Booth in the finance office was very professional, quick, thorough.
Service experience in the past has been very good with both the service manager, Ken Stringer,and assistant service manager, Virginia Aris.

Buying a new car with So. Md. Toyota was a very top notch, pleasant experience. There was absolutely no pressure and everyone was friendly and professional. Jamie and Ernest were true experts and had very broad indepth knowledge of their vehicles, services, and options available. The whole team ensured that all our questions were answered and that we left the showroom feeling confident and confortable with the purchase we made. I would most definately recommend So. Md. My Review of Toyota of Southern Maryland:
Ernie Baum was a repeat salesman for me so I knew him somewhat from working with my husband and I as we earlier bought a Solera. He was excellent in all ways as a salesman, especially for a customer so untechnical as I. Ernest has a rare ability to know when to stop arguing with a customer and just accept, listen. He was extremely patient with my poor technical ability and knowledge to thoroughly show me exactly how things work. He presented all the good points of the car and helped me with my worries. His very kind and patient help was much appreciated. This Prius V seems exactly what I want, quite appropriately more environmentally sound, able to haul my cello and various heavy things I need as I keep house, yard.

My Review of Toyota of Southern Maryland:
Ernest Baud was my new car sales consultant. I found him to be friendly and polite and very knowledgeable about the automobiles. Ernest did an excellent job of explaining all the new-car technology to me and offered his service for anything I might need future help with ... and I will take him up on that as it's been many years since I've purchased a new automobile and there are many things that I haven't yet learned how to use! I was pleased with the price of the Camry I purchased and appreciate the dealership's efforts to make this purchase a comfortable and pleasant experience for me. I took my first little road trip this past weekend and was pleased to see an average of 35.5 mpg. Beats the heck out of my old Lincoln Town Car!
