"TERRIBLE SERVICE AND POOR COMMUNICATION!!!!!"

I bought an alarm system and they installed. Later on I installed an aftermarket strip of LED lights to the back of my car asnd the alarm system failed. This is not supposed to happen considering the alarm system is a new and advanced peice of hardware. Instead of finding a solution to the problem, the only thing A1 Toyota decided to do was blame and insult me. A1 Toyota has dissapointed me.

Dear Alex32, The situation with your remote start was explained to you AND DEMONSTRATED to you a few months ago. Gary sat with you and listened to you. When you told him that service had told you that they believed it was because you had put aftermarket LED bulbs in the dome, but service hadn't actually brought the vehicle in yet to do an actual assessment, he made arrangements to have them bring it into service to actually diagnose it. Service found that you had installed an aftermarket light that plugged into the hitch. Whenever they unplugged the light, the remote start worked perfect and whenever they plugged it back in, the remote start didn't work. They brought you into service and showed you what the issue was, and showed you multiple times! It is very common for additional work by another party to void and tamper with the work of a first party. This isn't an insult to you. It is a mechanical fact. "poor follow up"

Although the experience of leasing my vehicle was excellent, i can't say the same about my service experience. i took my car to get rid off the smoke smell from the previous owner. after they told my sales rep they would give me a loaner, the day before they told me for that type of job a loaner wasn't available. then after we work things out and left the car for service when i picked the car up i noticed my windshield was cracked. i brought to their attention, needles to say how upset i was , 3 different persons "in suits" came outside telling me that couldn't happened there but that they were going to look at video to make sure and they were going to call me the next day to let me know what they saw. bottom line no calls, no contact from any one... a windshield is no big deal but when you talk a big game just follow trough....

"They caused a problem to charge me for a repair"

I went in for my Lifetime Oil Change and complimentary tire rotation and walk out with a $150 repair bill from them breaking the bolts that hold the tire on. Ok, so I know unexpected things happen but two times they work on my tires two times the bolts are broken and need to be repaired at $100 labor and $10 per bolt. They go on and tell me it is common in older vehicles like mine and they see it a lot. So if it is common is it a defective part? if they see it a lot are they negligent and causing the problem? I complained there in person and they couldn't care less. I was just told "oh you have an old vehicle." I can understand if it was something mechanical but a bolt that holds a tire on? All 5 bolts that hold the tire on??? The only saving grace of this place is Carol (I believe it was her at the checkout counter). She happened to have a $25 coupon to help me out. But going in for a free service and still walking out with a $120+ bill due to a problem they caused... yay (a sarcastic "yay"). I don't trust this place with any repair because it seems they cause more problems in order to charge you more money. Its no wonder why they give a free oil change or free tire rotation... they get you in, break something, then hit you with a bill. I wouldn't be here complaining if they even tried to work with me. They didn't care about anything other than me paying a the bill.

Management from A1 Toyota had gotten in touch with me on 5/26 and initiated a refund along with an apology. I am to be receiving an adjusted bill (to be mailed to me) along with a refund to my credit card. I am currently waiting for processing due to the holiday weekend. I am very appreciative of the service I am getting now... it is just unfortunate that I had to go to a 3rd party website and write a negative review... I feel this could have been addressed in the shop from the beginning. I do not believe I would be treated as well as I am being treated now without having publicly complained and having left my review. At least it shows they do care and read the reviews here and try to make things better.

"Poor service disorganized"

I called and left a VM for service. No one called me back. My wife called the next day and they made an appointment for the wrong day. When I got there they were confused and had me for a different day. Then when I came to pick up the car no one helped me for fifteen minutes and didnt know where the car was. They were very confused and kept making it sound as if I was making mistakes

"Great place to buy a new Car!!!!!"

From the moment we arrived at the dealer we were given the best service possible. Our sales person Patrick Cambell took the time to get to know what we needed and with no haggles provided us with all the information we needed to purchase our new car. We purchased a 2017 Toyota Rav 4.! Patrick even took the time to explaine to use how to use the features in our car with detail and a very inviting patient that helped us feel at ease. Angel Ramos at the finace department took the time to explained to us every document in detail making us feel confident about our buy. We came back two days later to the dearler to get our alarm installed and the service department was incredible. it was as easy as 1, 2, 3. I will defenetly recommend A - ! Kevin was the sales person who waited on my husband and myself and I must say I came in to pick up my car that was there for a recall reason, and left with a brand new Rav 4, Kevin is very knowledgeable, personable, down to earth straight shooter that gave us all the information we needed to purchase this car, after a short test ride I knew I was buying this car and Kevin made it happen, we came back the next day and he answered and showed us any questions we had and set up my 2 phones, Pandora and gps, Thank-you very much Kevin for time you spent with us and your patience, and I certainly would come back and see Kevin when I purchase my next vehicle

"Need a MAYBE selection on recommending this service center."

I said that I would NOT recommend A-1 Toyota to anyone only because of my more recent visits to the service department. I won't go into too much detail, but over the past year or two, I have been starting to feel like the service technicians do not do what they're supposed to. Numerous times I've said I've had leaky this or that and each time they said they did not find anything. I have probably spent close to $8,000 or more in the past 3 years on repairs and some of the same things are still happening. I don't know much about cars and have not found a mechanic that I completely trust yet so I feel like I'm at the mercy of what they tell me. I am honestly starting to think that A-1 Toyota only wants to take your money. Don't get me wrong... I've been going here for service for nearly 14 years and have always had a great experience with the service writers. I hope the service writers aren't trying to recommend things that need to be done when they really don't, because I HAVE brought my car to a local mechanic in the past to get a 2nd opinion and they have said that the recommended work from A-1 was NOT needed. And regarding this, one time when I brought my car there for service, the technician saw me (I won't divulge his name and I'm not sure if he works there anymore) and pulled me to the side and quietly told me that whatever was being recommended (I can't remember what it was anymore) to have done DIDN'T NEED TO BE DONE. I thanked him profusely and this was the beginning of me feeling suspicious of the business ethics at A-1. Back to my experiences with the service writers... I've had the pleasure to deal with Ken Perrone and Tom Opuszynski for most of the times. They were both excellent and I felt comfortable with them for the most part. More recently I've been working with Tariq Muhammed and so far HE IS AWESOME!!!!!! I could listen to him talk all day! I hope he is one of the honest, good guys with good ethics. Since I've just started having him as my service writer, it's too soon to tell. But like I said, so far it's been great working with him even though my car is having problems. Just once he never called back to let me know the status of my car... he gets a pass this time. Tariq... until I get to know you more, you get 4 stars. ;) P.S. I might be getting a new car soon. I'm a little bit on the fence about buying from A-1 because I'm nervous about having to deal with the service department down the road if things start happening to my car and I get the feeling that something fishy is going on. And this is sad to feel this way considering: 1. A-1's location is so convenient for me, and 2. I really have had such a great experience with the friendliness of most of the employees that I've had to work with... Carol, Melissa (who works in accounting now I think), Ken, Tom O., Tony, and now... TARIQ!!! These are the ONLY REASONS I want to come back. I feel a certain loyalty because of them... SOOO NICE to deal with. It's the actual service on my car that makes me question everything.
