A great phone call came thru this past Saturday January 7th, 2023. It was Mike Miller telling me that the car had arrived and that l could come thru to finish the paper work and take my new car. I do not recommend Advantage Toyota of Valley Stream. They lack transparency and their practices are shady. Hindsight is 20/20 so if I can do it over again, I would not lease from them again. To start They lack transparency and their practices are shady. Hindsight is 20/20 so if I can do it over again, I would not lease from them again. To start, their sales manager gives you the impression that they’ll get you a deal and possibly MSRP. They provide you vehicle information that says the MSRP price. They then ask you how much cash you’ll put down and how much you’re able to pay per month. This is where they become shady. If the amount you’re able to pay per month is over the actual amount you should be paying, they markup the price of the car so that your monthly cost is slightly under the amount you said. They never disclose they marked up the price of the car and their narrative changes to they’re able to get you the car at your “agreed” monthly payment. When I questioned the sales rep why the payment is so high, they said I would have to speak to finance because they don’t deal with that. When I spoke to finance about the high monthly cost, her response is that is what you agreed to. Again, no one has disclosed the markup price. When I saw the price on the document and called them out on it, that’s when they bring up “all dealers are marking up the prices” excuse. While some do markup the price, Advantage Toyota marked it up $9,000 without disclosing it. After calling them out on this shady practice, they agreed to lower the cost. Be careful here, they lower the cost of the vehicle but increase the rate to show you a new monthly payment. After you agree to the lower cost of the car, they then decrease the rate to what it should be but to keep the monthly cost the same, they increase the “Agreed upon price”. They have you sign a tablet so you don’t see this change unless you look into it after the fact. Another shady practice, they keep you waiting for hours for the paperwork to process. After 3 hours, you’re not double checking their work. I went the next business day to their office to inform them of their error and naturally they deny there were any errors as the agreed monthly payment is still the same. After being diligent they finally accepted there was an error made by someone but they will never admit it was anyone at the dealership. I asked to speak to the GM and he didn’t even have the courtesy to speak to me about this error. Their resolution is to refund me the difference, however, they didn’t include tax. After calling them out on that error, they included tax. I asked about the interest I’ll be paying on the higher cost and they said they can’t do that. I asked them to document how this error occurred and they refused to do that. I informed them of my dissatisfaction with everything and requested to get out of my lease contract and naturally they rejected. This dealership does not care about customer satisfaction and they will scam you hoping that you won’t catch it. I informed them I’ll be rejecting the refund and escalating this to the Toyota Brand Engagement Center to report their practice. They nonchalantly told me to go ahead which implies this is a common practice for them. I have reported them and if they did something similar to you, I recommend contacting the Toyota Brand Engagement Center at 800-331-4331 Option 7. Sales Manager Daniel Blank should not be able to get away with ripping off customers. More

I have expressed this recently however I am incredibly disappointed on my vehicle and experience with this purchase for the last four years. In the sale of the car, I was not informed of damage to the AC, disappointed on my vehicle and experience with this purchase for the last four years. In the sale of the car, I was not informed of damage to the AC, filtration, electrical system, and drainage system - all of which had to be repaired or replaced out of warranty amounting to 10,000 worth of repairs. In addition, when an error was discovered on a carfax report, I was unable to reach a manager until I called 5 times in a single day. I am extremely disappointed in and lost trust in this team. More
