This should have been a 2 star review but I give it 3 for some help I got. I would still recommend the service at this dealership but they have started to take a turn for the worst. I am leasing a vehicle from the dealer. I got a call (and I believe a text/email also) to tell me I had to get the vehicle serviced. I just had an oil change in October 2024 and only had maybe 1000 miles since the oil change. I was told on the phone I had to get the service. I do not want the dealership to say anything at the end of the lease so I scheduled the service on the phone for the following Saturday which was February 22, 2025. I was told when I spoke to the advisor that my complementary service had ended the previous year and I had to pay for the oil change. I know I was told the last oil change that I had to get that one since it was a year since I had an oil change but I was still under 2000 driven miles since the previous change. I was informed the car detects when the oil is a year old (or close to it) and I had it changed. I know it was only 5 months since the last change so I didn't make a big deal of it but I know I didn't need it. NOW this is the worst part of the day. I was told on the phone i HAD TO WAIT FOR THE CAR WHILE IT WAS SERVICED. This was the first time I was told this but I had an appointment for 9:30 am so I figured just an oil change and tire rotation so I would be out by 10:30 am at the latest. It turns out appointments and the hours scheduled are just to drop off the car and the dealer to take the car. I was told the wait would be at least 3 hours. This was not in my plans and would affect the rest of my entire day. It was actually 4 hours before I got the car back, more on that later.. I was told that I could get a complementary car ride back home if it was less than 5 miles away. I decided to take it but it also took almost an hour for the ride back home. I did not appreciate the comment when I made the appointment: "You have to wait for the car to be serviced". I asked why I couldn't drop it off and pick it up later and I was told that could not be done that day. I am not sure why. I would have driven there with another vehicle to make my life simpler but that really made my day way more difficult than it should have. I have had a pretty good experience up until today with service but this time it was not good. Waiting for 4 hours for an oil change and a tire rotation when I had an appointment at 9:30 am (I showed up at 9:15am) and did not get the car back until just after 1:30 pm, just does not make much sense to me. This review would have been 2 stars but I did get a car ride home so I made it 3 stars. I will add. I did get the car back because I saw my vehicle outside the service area when I drive back 4 hours later but I in fact reached out to the advisor and asked him if my car was ready as I did see it outside (out in the area where the car is placed when service is completed) . The team at Toyota Advantage does a great job of helping me keep in front of the minor maintenance matters in order to drive it for many more miles.
