My lease (2021 Mazda Cx-5) has expired and was told that I won’t be able to lease another one for less than $400 a month, I was paying $278 and did not want to pay much more than that since I’m on a fixed i I won’t be able to lease another one for less than $400 a month, I was paying $278 and did not want to pay much more than that since I’m on a fixed income and have some interest free loans that I need to pay by August and the other one by October. I thought about buying my lease, but Mazda didn’t offer much help. Went online to CarMax to get a quote for my lease and they offer about $4,000 above of what I owed. I saw that Al Hendrickson Toyota was advertising lease cars with a low monthly payment. So, I decided to stop by and see what they have to offer. Just wanted to see my options. They said the low monthly payment leases were based on a large downpayment. I told them that maybe I could put a large downpayment if I sold the vehicle to CarMax. The sales manager, Dimitry immediately discourage me, saying CarMax never pay what they said it would. Several times I tried to leave but he kept coming back with a deal, but still wasn’t good enough because my payments would be higher than I wanted to be. At some point I told him I needed to think about and also check other options and left. I was about to leave the parking lot when he came out with another offer, which seemed decent, so I came back in with him, when I realized I had to put in a downpayment of $3,000. I already have spent about 4 hours in the dealership. By that time, I was tired, so confused and wanted to leave, but didn’t because every time they tried to make a deal with me. After six hours I finally left with a Corolla and a payment of $360. A lot higher payment than I wanted it and left with a feeling of dread that a have just made a huge mistake. To say the least this was one of the most horrendous experiences of my life. More
