Even though we live 100 miles from Columbia, we choose to buy from this dealer for their excellence in all areas of a great purchase experience. We started our relationship in 2018 with Jeremy in sales for my wife's new 440i and were so pleased with him that we went back to him to buy my new M8 this week. As an 80 year old car guy, I have dealt with dealers from coast to coast but have never found a better person or dealer to purchase from on any brand and I have had them all, from Bentley to Ferrari to Audi to Jaguar to Porsche and others. These folks are wonderful and know how to run a dealership like the pros they are. I have never found a weakness in their store and, believe me, after running a division of a 635M dollar corporation for 18 years, I know how. I rate them and especially, Jeremy, 5 stars plus! For the second time I feel like BMW of Columbia has shifted me! Long story short I initially purchased a 2015 X3 that I specifically asked to have certain features. I think the vehicle is defective onl shifted me! Long story short I initially purchased a 2015 X3 that I specifically asked to have certain features. I think the vehicle is defective only to find out that the features I asked for were never on the vehicle to start. I tried to resolve this by calling and speaking to my sales person only to find he was no longer there and was assigned a new rep. He was no help so I blasted them in a review online. I finally got the attention of the GM who at the time seemed to be appeasing. He placed me in a 2016 X3 that had what I asked for from the beginning. Well fast forward to Sept of 2020 and the car has electrical issues that the dealership can't seem to repair even though they kept my car well over a month. I get my car back Nov of 2020 and the only one repair was fixed. Dec 2020 I'm driving and the vehicle loses power without warning in traffic. I was lucky enough that I was not hit my traffic behind me. I take it to the dealership once again to be looked at and diagnosed and so far I've only been told what it COULD be, nothing definitive. So they kept the vehicle and here we are again, another MONTH and I STILL don't know exactly what's going with my vehicle. I am STILL required to make payments on what I believe to be is subpar nicely packed junk! I have call BMW corporate several times and still no resolve.. I say all of that to say... BUYER BEWARE!!!! If I knew what I know now I could've kept my perfectly fine Dodge Challenger, and remained brand loyal to great customer service and working products. More

Worst experience I've had. My service advisor wasn't there and another advisor gave me wrong attitude. I asked her what's the payment for because I didn't know about it. She raised her voice up and sa there and another advisor gave me wrong attitude. I asked her what's the payment for because I didn't know about it. She raised her voice up and said that i can leave the car there and come back another day to talk to my advisor. She said that she will not let me drive without paying. I was only asking about it and that's what she supposed to say?!? She was very rude. I can't believe that it's what advisor talked to customer when they only ask go clarify. I just paid and wanted to get out right away with her attitude. More

This is a Public Service Announcement to be on the look-out for Bait and Switch tactics, disingenu Illegal? Unethical? Untrustworthy?...You Decide! This is a Public Service Announcement to be on the look-out for Bait and Switch tactics, disingenuous marketing, untrustworthy associates, and a total lack of credibility on the part of the BMW of Columbia Sales Team, including the Dealership’s General Manager. We agreed to pay approximately $34,000 for a 2019 BMW X3 that was listed on the BMW of Columbia Website with 14,291 miles…which correspondingly afforded us 3 years and 34,000 miles of remaining factory warranty. At 5:15pm the night before we were to drive 6 hours to Columbia SC, we received a call from the Dealership advising us that the vehicle actually had 18,425 miles – rather than 14,291 miles (and thus only 30,000 miles of remaining factory warranty). The General Manager of Sales (Mr. Reynolds) tried to suggest that this was no big deal because the SUV was an “active loaner vehicle.” Mr. Reynolds offered no corresponding adjustment to the agreed upon purchase price and then argued that the vehicle had the same $34,000 value, notwithstanding the 4,000 additional miles (and reduced factory warranty coverage). Consider the following before your visit to BMW of Columbia. Do you trust a Dealership that lists a vehicle and negotiates a price based on 14,291 miles, when the vehicle actually has 30% more miles (18,425) than listed on their Website? Hint # 1: The Website does not disclose that the vehicle is an “active” loaner vehicle. Do you trust a Dealership that lists a vehicle and negotiates a price based on a remaining Factory Warranty of 3 years/34,000 miles, when the vehicle actually has only 30,000 miles remaining on the Factory Warranty (i.e., only 10,000 miles per year)? Do you trust a General Manager of Sales who argues, AFTER negotiating a sales price, that the value of a vehicle in service less than 12 months with 14,291 miles is identical to the value of that same vehicle with 18,425 miles (and only 30,000 miles vs 34,000 miles of remaining factory warranty)? Hint #2: An online calculation of that BMW X3 with 4,000 additional miles (18,425 vs 14,291) reflects a $933 reduction in value on Edmunds, a $725 reduction in value on NADA, a $1575 reduction in value on Consumer Reports, and a $443 reduction in value on Kelly Blue Book. Do you trust a General Manager of Sales who argues that NADA value is the proper valuation of a vehicle? Hint #3: A March 11, 2020 article at CarsDirect.com emphasizes that, “NADA is usually used by banks or car dealers to show you an inflated price value. Therefore, you should never use NADA books for real [price] reference.” Do you trust the General Manager (Mr. Miles) of a Dealership who, when made aware of these concerns, responded by email without making any effort whatsoever to rectify the pricing discrepancy and failed to even apologize? We would like to thank BMW of Columbia for attempting to screw us before we drove 6 hours to Columbia, thus allowing us to abort the purchase before finding a “parade of horribles” with a vehicle that, as it turns out, has been operating at a rate of 72 miles per day/5 days a week to reach 18,425 miles in less than 12 months. BMW of Columbia will likely drop in their customary self-serving reply comments after this post -apologizing for the experience and suggesting that they will use it as a “learning experience.” Yeah…right. More
