I dropped off my car days ago for a parking brake repair. They gave me a quote for repair. I thought it might be little bit expensive and decide to went to different shop, which is totally fine. However, when I towed the car to different shop, the shop told me the MOTOR ATTACHED TO THE CALIBER IS MISSING and the shop was unable to diagnose and have to buy a new one(760$) just to diagnose. I asked them and they blamed that the motor was lost during tow because it cannot be put back together "properly". However, there was no issues when towing the car to them, but now there is issue towing the car to somewhere else after they did the diagnose job. What's more, when I picked up the car, they first claimed the motor is in the trunk. I opened the trunk and found nothing and asked them back. Then they told me it is actually installed in the car. They seems to be no idea on whether the motor was put back or not. Even they did put it back, why don't they put the motor back "properly"? My expectation is very low, just give me back the car the same condition I gave it to them. WHERE IS MY PARKING BRAKE MOTOR??????? More
I think buyers should be given time to think through their deal or do more research on the car they’re considering. Honestly, I felt pressured to sign the contract—almost like I couldn’t leave the deale their deal or do more research on the car they’re considering. Honestly, I felt pressured to sign the contract—almost like I couldn’t leave the dealership without doing so. I’m not the kind of person who can make decisions or handle things immediately. Even now, I’m unsure whether I got a good deal or a bad one. I was told the finance team wanted to leave, so we had to wrap things up very quickly. When I asked if they could hold the car for just one more day, they said it had already been punched as a loaner and couldn’t be held until the next morning. I still don’t understand why. I really loved the exterior and interior color, and I wanted to learn more about the car’s features and details. I think the dealership saw how much I liked the car and pushed to close the deal quickly. I repeatedly asked for the final price after adding protection plans. I needed to see those details before signing the contract, especially since my budget is very tight. But they only gave me the final price after all the paperwork was completed. Imagine—after nearly four hours there, it was 8:30 PM, and I was exhausted and just wanted to wrap up everything. They didn’t allow me to come back the next day. Regarding the trade-in, they didn’t let me discuss or negotiate the price. They just kept saying the finance team was leaving and the car wouldn’t be available tomorrow. I had nearly $5,000 left to pay off on my old car, but in the initial estimate, they used $4,500. For the remaining $500, they added $20 per month for 36 months, which totals $720. They also charged me an extra $100 for the payoff process—something I didn’t realize until I got home and reviewed the documents. They never clarified that for me. It’s not a huge amount of money, but I feel like they took advantage of my trust. I don’t know if this is just the nature of the business, or if I should have read every line more carefully before signing. Either way, everything is done now, and I have to accept it. More
