Lost Service Opportunity & Excessive Price Gouging. Sorry that I brought the car here and will never return! My car went into limp mode on I-75 with a “powertrain malfunction.” No assistance from Sorry that I brought the car here and will never return! My car went into limp mode on I-75 with a “powertrain malfunction.” No assistance from dealer to tow it. Eventually got it running and dropped it off after hours. They charged me $589 for basic powertrain diagnostic work (plug in machine and read codes). Ridiculous! They also gave me an estimate for $11,252 of “needed” repairs (most things I already knew about). This including $5,022 to replace the valvetronic actuator (actual source of malfunction per trouble codes). Obviously, I chose not to have them do anything!. Chief complaints: 1) Charging the customer for unrequested diagnostic work. I have used diagnostic equipment. It takes minutes to read error code data, not 2.9 hours. Clearly, this charge was to cover all the time the technician had spent on the unrequested work. However, I had no recourse if I wanted my car back, so I paid the bill even though it was clearly over inflated. 2) The written estimates incorrectly state and exaggerate the problems and work performed. The written service order states “… found valvetronic motor to be sticking when engine is at running temp.” However, the technician explained in the video “it’s trouble free at the moment.” It is impossible to be “sticking” and “trouble free” at the same time. Since no further error codes were recorded, it must have been working correctly at that time. 3) Charging about double to triple the BMW MSRP for BMW repair components. A few examples compared with readily available pricing information from other dealers (e.g. bmwofsouthatlanta.com): o $943.40 for the valvetronic actuator (part # 11-37-7-603-979) with a BMW MSRP of $460.12. o $116.39 for the valve cover gasket (part # 11-12-7-587-804) with a BMW MSRP of $59.46. o $15.90 for the injector O-ring seals (Part # 13-53-7-591-006) with a BMW MSRP of $4.83. 4) Inflated labor charges. $3108.62 labor for the combined valve cover gasket and valvetronic motor service. That is over 16 man hours! This estimate conflicts with the original time Greg Jones indicated would be required to complete the repair (a one-day service turnaround). Greg was courtious but seemed to completely misunderstand (or misdirected by dealership policies) my needs. I needed the engine diagnostic work done and potentially repaired. I didn't need to be reinformed about the condition of everything else. He is probabably just following directions so I am not sure if he is at fault. I also came in on Saturday to get a personal item out of the car. Lots of people milling around Service but they could not find my car. Just wierd! This dealership is clearly taking advantage of unknowledgable customers and ripping them off. More

The dealer somehow determined that wires in my car were Broken by an outside source. My vehicle is less than a year old and the dealer informed me that the damage would cost me over $700. This is our secon Broken by an outside source. My vehicle is less than a year old and the dealer informed me that the damage would cost me over $700. This is our second BMW and will be our last. Acura pulled something similar approximately 10 Years ago. We have never even entertained Acura again. I have spoken highly of BMW over the years, that opinion has now been eroded. Because of $700, I will return my BMW and simply leave without releasing a new vehicle. I also emailed their customer service, and have yet to receive a response. This is not what I expected from BMW. More

Given a rental car and was to be called when finished. Husband received text same day at 4:45 to say car was ready. It’s my car and my contact info was taken on both days, no call, no text to me… why have appoints if there is always several hour waits? Headlamp change takes 2 days, 6 and 1/2 hour wait time and $388.88… can’t you do better than that? More
