BMW of Silver Spring is a great dealership! I have only good things to say about Rick Lopez and Michael Katzemburg. Initially, I came into the dealership in October to look at a 335 convertible. I was expe good things to say about Rick Lopez and Michael Katzemburg. Initially, I came into the dealership in October to look at a 335 convertible. I was expecting the employees at this dealership to be stuffy and look down upon me because of my young age. It was a pleasant surprise to be treated with the utmost respect. Michael showed me a beautiful 2008 335 convertible and took me for a test drive. I ended up buying my first BMW. Michael stayed in contact every step of the way and I even got a call from his Manager Rick Lopez, making sure all of my questions had been answered and concerns had been addressed. Michael encouraged me to consider a Certified BMW which came with a 2 year Certified pre-owned warranty on top of the remaining 2 years of the original factory warranty. Although there seemed to be better deals on eBay and Craigslist, Michael took the time to show me the difference of buying from an authorized BMW dealer. I would much rather work with a local BMW dealership with a great reputation and have that piece of mind that they stand behind their product. I love the staff, the smooth sales process and knowledge that they have at BMW of Silver Spring. I can't wait to purchase my next BMW from them! More
Easy to talk and felt comfortable with the sales person, Steven Mueller. He showed us all the available cars and features. Drove arround and liked the 2012 BMW 528 Xi Turbo, negotiated the car price within 15 minutes without much hassle. The deal was much better than other area dealers. The delivery of the car was very prompt and Steve answered all our questions and concerns. Honestly, I will not hestitate to recommend this car dealer and Mr. Mueller to anybody who is looking to purchase a new or used BMW. It was a pleasure to deal with them. Thanks, Steve. Can buying a new car be a pleasurable experience? Before last week, I would have said no. In fact, after 40 years of buying cars (some new, some used) the best I hope for now is that the experience is beni last week, I would have said no. In fact, after 40 years of buying cars (some new, some used) the best I hope for now is that the experience is benign. But, much to my shock, the experience I had buying a new BMW 328i convertible a few days ago at BMW of Silver Spring (Maryland) was actually pleasurable, and it’s principally because of one gentleman, Manny Elbaltimy, one of their sales representatives. It just goes to show you how much of a difference one person can make to a normally stressful situation. By way of background, I have bought somewhere between 15-20 cars over the last 40 years for me and members of my family. Having moved to Florida recently, I got the bug to buy a convertible and my wife and I decided to give ourselves a Christmas present with a new convertible. Having owned BMWs in the past, and having read the reviews of the best of the convertibles that are out there, I was pretty sure I was going to get the 328i or 335i, but actually test drove a 2011 Mercedes 350 convertible just to compare. Actually, it doesn’t. Despite being about $10,000 more in price and having more horsepower than the BMW 328i, the Mercedes drove sluggishly and not nearly as responsive as the 328i. I started shopping the Central Florida area, but because we were pretty precise about what we wanted (a 2011, with low mileage, a specific color combination and a few key options), I had to expand the area of my search. I found three or four within about a thousand miles that were close to having what we wanted, including one at the BMW dealership in Silver Spring, Maryland. I made contact with the dealership, and was turned over to Manny Elbaltimy as my sales rep. From the start, Manny was a breath of fresh air; his approach was simple, straight, direct, nice yet professional. There wasn’t the excessive schmoozing that I sometimes find at dealerships, and no pandering or defensiveness (which you occasionally get). As an aside, over the years I’ve learned that as a lay person (meaning a non-car salesperson) you can never beat them at their game. Read all the books and tips you want, there is nothing they haven’t seen or heard before. I’m not saying don’t do your homework, but the most you can hope for is that you don’t get beaten too badly. So, to a great extent, you simply have to hope that you’re dealing with a salesman (or woman) and a dealership that is honest, responsible and has integrity. You also have to be willing to let them make a few bucks. By the way, read the reviews that are out there, www.dealerrater.com being the best and most comprehensive of the group. When was something like these sites available to car buyers. Dozens and possibly hundreds of customers can’t all be wrong. Manny was very helpful answering all our questions, which were many, since we couldn’t just look at or drive the car ourselves. He even went out into the cold Maryland night to give me the verbal description of a walk around of the car because I wanted to know if there were any nicks, dings or scratches since I was actually thinking of buying it without seeing it. When I told Manny I wasn’t interested in haggling and wanted his “best price”, he gave me a good, in fact, very competitive price, but unfortunately, the phrase “he who hesitates is lost” came to haunt me. By the time I decided to buy the car (a couple of days later), it had already been sold (not by Manny, though). But, here’s where Manny really shone and turned what could have been a disappointment into a win-win situation. Since it was the end of the year, Manny went looking through the dealership’s inventory and found a new 2011 (only 16 miles on it), with virtually everything we were looking for. Working with his sales manager, he got the price down for me to the proverbial offer I couldn’t refuse. Frankly, I didn’t even haggle, recognizing that I was getting a good buy. We cut the deal over the phone and my wife and I decided to turn the purchase into an end of year adventure and fly up to Maryland, pick up the car, and drive it back to Florida. Again, Manny came through for us in an “above and beyond” way, which seems to be the top down management style the dealership operates under. Manny picked us up at the airport (in a 740 no less) and drove us back to the dealership. On the 30 minute drive we learned about the dealership (formerly known as Tisher BMW, but is now part of the Mile One group) and more importantly, got to know Manny as a very interesting person, who’s been selling cars for about 7 years and enjoys his work (which shows). The dealership facility itself is an architecturally attractive building and a very comfortable facility. We got there about 6:00 pm and the place was buzzing. All the sales people look and act like professionals (white shirts, ties and suits are required dress code) and almost all the sales booths were filled with buyers finalizing their deals. BMW of Silver Spring is right near if not at the top of BMW dealerships for sales and service (maybe this is for the Northeast), but despite closing what must be a huge number of deals, they don’t act anything like a high volume dealership which if you’ve ever been in one can be a pretty unpleasant experience. They take the time to answer all your questions and go over your options. There’s no hard sell, not even on the warranty extensions and options that are extras. Manny took care of everything, and when we eventually were turned over to Joanna McCarthey, the business manager who did all the final paperwork, she turned out to be every bit as nice and helpful as Manny. She was the one to explain the various additional warranty options and extensions, which again, were presented in a no pressure atmosphere. When we finally took possession of the car, Manny took an extraordinarily long time with us as we were going to be on the road in somewhat of a strange car for the next two to three days. One of the nice things about the dealership is that they have a well lit, clean, modern, heated area for cars that are being prepared to be turned over to customers. I would not have wanted to go through my orientation to the car in the cold night weather. Manny not only took the time to walk us through all the workings of the car (he even got my IPhone synced with the car and my music downloaded into the cars’ huge memory (it holds 32,000 tracks of music), he gave us some great advice on doing the drive back to Florida, suggesting an alternative, scenic route that is a little longer but gets you there faster. He closed things out by giving us a couple of car mats for free and the car was handed over with a full tank of gas. If you think a full tank of gas and some free mats are not that big a deal, the mats are (I think) about a $150 cost, and I once bought a new car at a dealership that turned it over to me with the needle on reserve, though the salesman was nice enough to tell me where the closest gas station was. (Try getting me to believe that the little things don’t count.) When my wife and I finally said goodbye to Manny and drove out of the dealership, we literally had smiles on our faces. I can honestly say that what you want in a car dealership you will find at BMW of Silver Spring, and what you want in a salesperson, you will find with Manny Elbaltimy. If there is another new BMW in my future, I’m going there again. More

I arranged a test drive appointment at BMW of Silver Spring to evaluate a 2012 BMW 528i. Both the client advisor I worked with, Samantha (Sam) Cambridge, as well as the dealership's receptionist, provid Spring to evaluate a 2012 BMW 528i. Both the client advisor I worked with, Samantha (Sam) Cambridge, as well as the dealership's receptionist, provided a level of service befitting a highline automotive brand like BMW. I was offered refreshments immediately upon arrival, and the showroom layout was logical, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable. Most importantly, Samantha had the specific 528i I wished to test drive ready. She graciously allowed me to choose a driving route that best met my needs, answered my technical questions, and treated my visit to the dealership with a focus on ensuring my test drive was a productive one. This was particularly noteworthy due to the unusually high level of sales activity that day (apparently, the week before New Year's is a rather busy one for luxury car dealerships). A positive initial impression is of the essence in automotive retailing, and Samantha at BMW of Silver Spring handily achieves that ideal. More
Our recent experience buying a new car at BMW of Silver Spring was one of the most pleasant experiences we have had. We worked with Conrad Connor, Client Advisor, and Michael Bolgar, New Vehicle Sales Mana Spring was one of the most pleasant experiences we have had. We worked with Conrad Connor, Client Advisor, and Michael Bolgar, New Vehicle Sales Manager. On our first visit there they provided us with all the information we needed and attractive offers on the cars that interested us, but without any pressure whatsoever to make an immediate decision. That, and some background research, allowed us to make an informed counter offer the next morning. We had the deal sealed and picked up the car that evening. All fees were disclosed upfront and there were no nasty surprises in terms of expensive dealer installed options. Indeed, the dealership provided floor mats, which don’t come with the car, for free, as well as a full tank of gas. The whole experience was very gratifying and an immense relief after our nasty experience at another dealership three days earlier (BMW of Towson did not honor pricing that they had confirmed the previous day by e-mail that they would and tried instead the old routine of “let me talk to my manager and work out the best deal”, asked us to pay $50 for gas and even tried to get us to pay $100 for inflating the tires with nitrogen—of course the floor mats were a $155 paid add-on). All told, on the basis of my experience there, I would very highly recommend BMW of Silver Spring to anyone that fancies themselves in a “Bimmer”. More
This was the first car we've purchased since we bought our last BMW in 1988 (count'em 24 years) and were a little nervous since technology has changed so much. We were completely satisfied with our exper our last BMW in 1988 (count'em 24 years) and were a little nervous since technology has changed so much. We were completely satisfied with our experience. When I told Jacob the features we wanted in a car, he figured out what packages we needed to purchase to obtain those features without any duplication which saved us several thousand dollars. When we went to pick up the car Jacob took the time to go over all the new features and how they worked. He even set up the navigation system and Sirrus radio for us. After the sale, he coordinated with the parts department (which was closed when we picked up the car) to have some items we wanted shipped to us. If he had other customers, we never realized it because his focus was just on us and making sure we were comfortable with our new car. Joanna, in the financing department was also very helpful with what options were available and we were able to obtain an amazing financing rate (better than our credit union offered). We will return to BMW of Silver Spring and recommend it to our friends and neighbors. More
I came to BMW of Silver Spring a few weeks ago while researching the BMW end of year specials. I had already visited another BMW dealership in Montgomery County and did not have a pleasant experience. researching the BMW end of year specials. I had already visited another BMW dealership in Montgomery County and did not have a pleasant experience. Michael K was very friendly and proactive in finding a lease strategy that fit my needs. He understood I needed a few weeks to take care of some business prior to coming back to finalize the deal and followed-up with me periodically. He was responsive to all my requests and questions throughout this process. The finance department at BMW of Silver Spring was also courteous and helpful. Joanna was excellent at explaining various options for me to consider without being pushy. All in all this was the best car buying experience I've ever had. More
I don't normally write reviews, but my service was so exceptional with my sales person Conrad Connor that I decided to write a review. Mr. Connor provided OUTSTANDING customer service. I totalled my o exceptional with my sales person Conrad Connor that I decided to write a review. Mr. Connor provided OUTSTANDING customer service. I totalled my old BMW and was in a market for a car, but had no idea I would be buying a car on that day. I really wanted to shop around to make sure I was getting the best deal I could get out there. Mr. Connor took his time helping me research the car I was interested and gave me all the information I needed to make a sound decision. He was very pleasant and accommodating to my needs. I felt like I should not buy the first car I saw but Mr. Connor showed me all the benefits of the 528xi and compared what I would be getting from the other dealerships around the area for the same car. He spent a lot of time doing all the leg work for me to make sure I was comfortable with my final decision. I was there almost all day. Because of my excellent experience, I will definitely be a repeat customer at Silver Spring of BMW. More
