I bought a CPO'd X5 from BMW of Silver Spring last August. Two months ago I started hearing a thumping noise from the rear suspension and I took it to BMW of Fairfax (because its closer to my house) August. Two months ago I started hearing a thumping noise from the rear suspension and I took it to BMW of Fairfax (because its closer to my house) to get it checked out. At first, the technician couldn't even replicate the noise so I had to take the technician for a drive so he could hear the noise. Then they told me it would take a few more hours to diagnose (I had already been waiting for 3 hours). After the few hours, I was told that they would need the car until tomorrow and that they were going to put me in a rental car. I was later called to come pickup my car at 9AM the next day but when I headed towards the dealership in the morning, I got a text telling me that the car was not ready. I was sitting in traffic for 45 minutes at this point and could not turnback so I ended up going to the dealership and waiting. After waiting two hours, I was told that the rear right shock needed to be replaced and it would cost $1600 just for parts and they recommend changing both shocks at the same time. I was also told that the repair would not be covered under warranty and I would have to pay for it out of pocket. More importantly, I was told that the noise still may not be gone but changing the shocks (a $3500-$4000 expense) would be the first thing to do. I was amazed and decided to take the truck back to BMW of Silver Spring the next day. I spoke to Mike Maloney, the used car sales manager, who told me to bring the car in right away so they could look at it. Once I got to the dealership, I was greeted by the service manager who already knew everything about the situation. He introduced me to Kevin Hull (Red team service advisor) who took the car in right away. After waiting only 30 minutes, Kevin told me that the shocks do need to be replaced and that they would get it done under warranty. Kevin explained the process of ordering and installing the shocks and assured me that everything will be taken care of. I was surprised that it took BMW of Silver Spring 30 minutes to diagnose and find a solution for the problem, while it took BMW of Fairfax 8 hours to diagnose the problem and offer me a $4000 out-of-pocket solution. The guys at BMW of Silver Spring are very customer-oriented and believe in service leads to repeat business. I was also greeted by Larry (the general manager) when I got to the dealership. If you want to be treated like a valued customer, go to BMW of Silver Spring. More
On 07-20, I bought my second BMW a 335is convertible, and it was the best car buying experience ever. It was not only because I bought the best 3-series ever made, but it was because of the great customer se it was the best car buying experience ever. When I came to see Andy I was impressed with the customer service. I am very happy with the price I paid, as I saved almost 8k on a few months old car.Yesterday when I came in to buy the car, Andy had already received most of the necessary paperwork via e-mail, so basically I came in, got the key, and Andy explained all the features of the car and answered all of the questions I had. I got great financing, and Mr. Lopez resolved a couple minor issues I had without any problem. Thank you BMW of silver spring for making my car buying experience great. More
On Saturday July 2,2011, I purchased my second BMW. I already had a 650i and now own a 328i. I was so impressed and satisfied with my experience with the salesperson from my first purchase that it was a already had a 650i and now own a 328i. I was so impressed and satisfied with my experience with the salesperson from my first purchase that it was a no brainer that I use him to assist me with my second purchase. Lonnie Overby is not only knowledgeable about the inventory that his dealership has, he is very patient and listens to his customer's needs. At least that was my experience. What really impressed me about the experience was the financing. My overall financial situation was looked at but I was primarily judged on my past relationship with BMW financial. Which was excellent. This was a new car purchase but the 650i that my wife and I purchased was a used car purchase. We had been experiencing problems with the car as far as it starting if it was to sit for any extended period of time. We took it in and was given a brand new battery which appears to have taken care of our concerns. This was another determining factor with me returning to BMW of Silver Spring to make another purchase. Their follow-up customer care service. Not only do I recommend the salesperson (Lonnie Overby) but I recommend the dealership if you are looking for a new or certified pre-owned BMW. More

I consider that in all the years that I have owned a car and had it serviced that this was the first time that I experienced the Service person actually servicing my car because he evaluated what needed to and had it serviced that this was the first time that I experienced the Service person actually servicing my car because he evaluated what needed to be done and he fixed it right there on the spot - saved me time and money! Mr. Barber was so caring when I told him that my windshield washer was not working. He checked it out and went to back to see if the part was available. I paid for the part and he installled and double-checked to make sure that both wipers were working properly. That is what SERVICE is all about. More
