Multiple visits to the dealership without my car being repaired. Sabina is very nice and helpful but I’ve had to spend several hundreds of dollars on Uber to get to work. Very dissatisfied repaired. On 08/31/2020, I made an appointment to have three open recalls completed scheduled for 09/14/2020 at 7:30am. I went for the service and was told to come back as the dealer had to order the seat rail bolt recalls completed scheduled for 09/14/2020 at 7:30am. I went for the service and was told to come back as the dealer had to order the seat rail bolt and fuel line kit. According to the advisor, the lower control arms passed the punch test and was sprayed. The first appointment was made two weeks in advance and the parts were not ordered. I made the next appointment for 09/21/2020 at 8:30am. I was told the fuel line recall will take until 5pm. Then because of a broken vacuum hose and valve, the car would not be ready until 11am the following day. The car was finally ready at 3:21pm on 09/22/2020. I parked the vehicle and opened up the hood to discover the car was missing five brackets and six bolts. This is only what can be seen on top as I did not remove anything. I'm concerned on what else could be missing and if the recall was done properly as the work was sloppy. What initially caught my attention was the intercooler bracket on the driver's side was missing including the three bolts and rubber bushing attached to the intercooler. The plastic cover above the intake wasn't screwed in and the plastic screw tabs were left just sitting there. There were multiple scratches in the engine bay from excessive prying and also cracked wiring harness connectors behind the battery. The grill was stained or etched with blotches but permanent and won't come off. I didn't think much of it as I got the car back dirty from them so I figured it was dried coolant. I immediately called the service advisor Kayla back to ask her to tell the technician to not throw out any of the parts he took off and she said to bring the car in the next day at 9-10am so her boss can look at it. I arrived at 9:30 and spoke to her boss Andrea around 10:30. I showed him the picture of how my car was before having it taken apart for the fuel line recall at the dealership. He stated that parts get brittle over the years and breaks so the tech didn't put it back in but he will get me the missing parts and we agreed that I would install it myself. As some of the parts are made from steel, I don't think it can just break. Even then, all of the bolts that were missing were not reinstalled. He stated it was only one tech who worked on the car. At this point, I was uncomfortable leaving the vehicle there as I don't know what else will be missing. The headlights were not working after the recall so he fixed it and I had to wait for them to notify me on when the missing parts will be in. I also had to take three days off from work because of this fuel line service. This car has meticulously been maintained by myself over the years and no one else has done any work on it. I know where everything is on my vehicle and this is the first time the car has been serviced by someone else. I wasn't too worried at first because it's at a dealership but it turns out I was wrong. I'm not quite sure how some solid metal brackets and bolts just disappear or get thrown out. On 09/28/2020, I called the service department and left my phone number as I was told Kayla was busy helping another customer. She never called me back. On 09/29/2020, I called and left my information for the service manager to call me back the next day. I did not get a call back. It wasn't until I contacted Subaru of America when I finally got a text message on 10/26/2020 from the dealer that the parts were ready. I picked up the parts on Monday after a 30 minute wait as Kayla Rodriguez told me they had to put it together. When she came out with the items, I told her there were some missing. She went back to the office to get Andrew (Andrea Gerace) who told me that's it, no more unless I make a list and leave the car there for them to install as he can't keep giving me parts. I told him I'm not leaving the car and asked what will happen if other things go missing again? He said, "you want me to promise that nothing will go missing? Guarantee you that nothing else will go missing?" Well yes, he's the service manager at a dealership, someone there took the parts off and left it as is. No accountability. Stuff that had no reason to be removed in the first place. He also stated there was no getting back to him to exchange what I can't install for the correct stuff. Some parts I already knew are not for the application by looking at it. Such as they substituted small air filter cover hose clips for the brackets and a couple of random bolts just to get me to go away. Both appeared to be annoyed as if I was trying to get free parts. Any further discussion wouldn't make a difference so I left. I brought the car right back to them a month ago right after the recall work and he had a technician inspect and write down the missing components I pointed out twice so he can order it. That was all I asked for. Nothing more. It was 5 brackets and 6 bolts. The dealership would not return a phone call until corporate pushed them. And I still was given some wrong parts. I did not ask for a new grill, replacement of cracked wiring harnesses, or the prying damage of anything else to be replaced. The vehicle gets compliments even at 18 years old. It's still missing the securing intercooler bushing bolt, a high pressure power steering line bracket on top of the turbo inlet and the two bolts used to secure it to the rear of the intake manifold. The time that was wasted giving them the benefit of the doubt. That's really what got me, that I was naïve thinking that the dealership was operating in good faith and trying to find a solution, because it was wasted. This is my experience with Bay Ridge Subaru.
