Red flag everywhere in conjunction with bad experience We were trying to negotiate on a 2014 Corolla S, found one on there website for a good price. We have called and talk to Matthew Petty, was told that it was already sold and the reason why the other one was discounted at low price was because it was their " Go to car" which is their run errands vehicle but has another one just like it. Was told also this one has more option but is a bit more pricey then that one, will work something out to get close to the price as the other one. My wife and I test drove it, loved and willy to buy it that night.Also the car had 500 miles on it, Matt told us the reason for the miles was that it came from another dealer so Toyota brought it here because of the high volume sales in the state. During negotiation, we were firm on a price we think is worth due to it is a 2014 model and has 500-ish miles on it and we are bringing our own outside finance, we can get a 2015 for a good price, yes not an S model but a good LE model. Well he brought the manager that was working night, was told he is declining the offer.Then I was trying to make a statement about earlier we test drive a Kia Forte and the price was the same but we already schedule to go look at a Civic. When i mention that seems like he got mad/irritated the fact i made that statement and so the manager said to me " Go buy the Forte and i will sale this Corolla to someone else at a higher price then we offered you. I didn't even want to sell to you at this price anyway" This is when i got P.O. and had to walk away.A week later, we got a called from Matt saying they still got the car and if we want it, we can drive it off today. We told him we want at the price we said that night, he then got another manager to get an approval for the price and told its good, come on in. I did called before we head out there but when called Matt got confused on the price we have talked about, we told him nope we're not coming. We called a day later because we have just drove the Civic and loved it but wanted to make sure if Matt has the car and see what he can do to get the price where we have talked about the other day, he called back an hour saying we are good and told us to come on in. So we did and was about to the sign the paper during finance, then last minute we had to sign a damage report on the car about the rear bumper and they had to replace it, the finance guy said just a minor paint scratch but why in the world did they had to replace it for a scratch??? We were DONE, we stormed out, my wife was about to punch somebody in the face. If someone had told us about it from the start, we would be ok with it but it seems shady from the start, everyone in there had a different story about where the car came from. I think what happen was , it was their joy ride car, some one damaged it bad or came off the truck damage, We have ask for pictures but couldn't provide one. Then Matt called about 2 hours later that they are willing to bring the drop price even more, the final flag for us,we are not going there anymore and deal with the dealership. I should have listen to my gut the second time about this place and the car. More

Bad Experience I recently called Beaman Toyota to get a comparison price on a Toyota sedan I wanted to purchase. The sales person was helpful on the phone and gave me the requested information included a competitive price compared to another Toyota dealer I had contacted. The next day I called back to ask about trade in value for my existing Toyota sedan. The sales person said they would need to see the vehicle to give me an accurate value, so I drove 25 miles to the dealership to get a price on my vehicle. When I arrived the hostess took my name and call the sales person over the PA. I waited 5-10 minutes for someone to come during which time the hostess or anyone else spoke to me. At this time I asked the hostess for location of the rest room and proceeded there. When I returned from the rest room the sales person greeted me, took the key to my vehicle, told me where his desk was located and said I could go wait at his desk. After waiting 10-15 minutes during which time no one spoke to me, I asked the sales person at an adjoining desk if they had coffee. He told me where the coffee was located and I proceeded to get a cup. I came back to the desk and waited for another 5-10 minutes before the sales person arrived. He asked a few questions about my vehicle and said he wanted someone else to talk with me. The "sales manager" came and talked to me at length about the things that were wrong with my car (which I had previously priced on Kelly Blue Book). He wanted to know what I wanted for my car and when I did not give him a value he tried to pry one out of me, and offered me a ridiculously low value for my car. He then proceeded to try to bamboozle me with lots of numbers about why my car was valued so low and why the car I wanted to purchased could not be priced any lower. When I told him thank you and asked for return of my keys, without giving me the keys said he wanted to talk to someone else. He later came back an offered me a slightly higher price for my vehicle. When I told him no thank you and again asked for my keys he left and I thought he was retrieving my key. I proceeded to the exit door of the dealership and the "sales manager" approached me and said he had one other person he wanted to look at my car. I told him I would be going outside and would wait there for my keys. After waiting outside for another 10 minutes the "sales manager" came up and offered me the price I told him earlier I wanted for my vehicle. I told him thank you and that I was not ready to purchase the vehicle that day. At this point the SM did a theatrical performance expression to say I had never told him I was not going to purchase the vehicle that day. I informed him that I never said I was going to purchase that day, and no one ever asked me. He returned my key and I left. The next morning the sales person called my phone and asked about my purchasing the vehicle we discussed previously. I informed him that I was probably going to purchase the vehicle, but that it would be from another dealer. I thought his dealership was one of the worst I have had. I told him I had purchased a vehicle from his dealership 15 years ago, in the interim I had purchased five Toyotas from another dealer, and that I would probably not be purchasing again from Beaman. Both the sales person and the sales manager bragged about the fact that Beaman was the largest Toyota dealer in 37 states.. More

The weather was rainy and overcast the Saturday that I arrived at Beaman Toyota, but it was certainly bright and cheerful inside the dealership. Though I’d had had a cursory email exchange with Chris Wright, I admit to feeling anxious about the prospect of negotiating for a car. But I mustered my courage and, while driving to the dealership, my mind went through a thousand different scenarios regarding the prospective negotiations. When I arrived at the dealership my anxiety level was at what I refer to as Level 10-the highest level. And then I met Chris and I was immediately put at-ease. Chris Wright has a friendly, unassuming manner and I immediately realized that I’d unnecessarily fretted while working myself up into a ridiculous frenzy. Much ado about nothing, to quote the Immortal Bard –Shakespeare. Oh, but we had a good time and I know that I was fairly treated in every respect. I am now driving my first Toyota vehicle (Prius C) and my neighbors seem quite impressed, perhaps even jealous. But I’ve told them how they may remedy their situation and I can tell they are thinking about my recommendation. Just go see Chris Wright at Beaman Toyota. More

We were overall still pleased with our experience at Beaman so I , a week after my husband bought his truck took my mother down there to Javon. Javon told us that everyone we brought down , who bought a vehicle, he would give us 100.00 for each person who buys and he did not follow through. Don't fall for this!!! We had at least two or three more people we were going to take down there, but this made us change our mind. I don't think salesmen should make a promise to customers and not keep it. Mike Turpin was great!!! As well as Eric head over finance!!! These two helped us so much and are overall pleased with these two and cannot say enough about them. Ryan in finance at first seems like he might be rude but he also was great as well...Jennifer in finance seemed like she didnt want to be bothered by us until I called Eric and asked him to help us and he did very much. My overall experience with Beaman was pretty good. I would go back again. But I think I would ask for a more honest salesman next time. But then again where do you find one of those right? More
