RUN AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! I had a couple of phone conversations with Stephen Hague and was told that the best price for a Sonata was going to be the advertised price of just over $29K. I made an app conversations with Stephen Hague and was told that the best price for a Sonata was going to be the advertised price of just over $29K. I made an appointment and when I arrived was met by Christian (one of the managers) and told that Stephen was busy and was assigned another sales person to start the process. After being shuffled around to a couple of different desks and treated poorly the sales person finally came back and the total price of the car was now $35K . . . and it gets better. My trade was valued at only $9K and I could get $13.5K from a local wholesaler. They added on $5K because of market conditions, $3K for "Ron Carter Protection Plans" there were other add-ons and fees, and they wanted an additional $2K cash despite giving me a rebate of $1.5K. So do the math a $29K car - $6K in equity for my trade - $1.5K rebate - $2K cash + $8K in dealer crap = $35K. The math doesn't work. How does a $29K car with nearly $10K down turn into costing $6K more than the original asking price? I immediately told the sales person that I wasn't playing games and all he wanted to do was to negotiate and promise to help me. When he realized that I had no intentions of falling into the scam he couldn't get me out of the dealership quick enough for fear of the gullible customers hearing our conversation. That's the scam they hit you with so many upsells, add-ons, protection plans, low-ball trade offers, and deceptive tricks that even if you negotiate you still lose because eventually they will wear you down and you will never catch all of their tricks. It's like watching a bunch of pick-pockets and scam artists at a parking lot carnival. Unless you have a desire to throw away your money don't waste your time! More
I just tried to buy a car from this dealership and the salesman and manager were so rude and unhelpful. They were not willing to sell a car that I had already been approved for and have it delivered, whic salesman and manager were so rude and unhelpful. They were not willing to sell a car that I had already been approved for and have it delivered, which I was willing to take all liability on. Every other dealership offers delivery especially since covid. It's one thing to not offer the service but it's another to be not responded too, hung up on, and spoken very rudely to. If I could give 0 stars I would. More
Terrible experience as a first time buyer. I started my online application and taught everything looked great untill I ran into a problem and had to go in person. Once I got to the dealership the salesman online application and taught everything looked great untill I ran into a problem and had to go in person. Once I got to the dealership the salesman person Paul Jones price gauge me with the story of “chip shortage” and then after going into the finance office got all this extra fees that were not explained! Neither the sales person and the other guy explained changes and extra fees in contract! What a shame, really taking advantage of first time buyers and just price gauging vehicles and not stating contract changed or explaining each fee! Dishonest people! And don’t get me started on the lady Dee? She did not even offer to help me and told me to wait on the lobby and then decided to leave the dealer! How rude and unprofessional! More
The WORST customer service!!!! They basically force you to purchase their “premium package” that is supposed to cover windshield damage and paint damage. I have a cracked windshield now and of Course they to purchase their “premium package” that is supposed to cover windshield damage and paint damage. I have a cracked windshield now and of Course they are telling me that I don’t have that coverage even though I have provided proof of the purchase of their “premium package.” I’m being told now that it was a misunderstanding about coverage and my sales guy is no longer employed there (of course) to confirm. I received a call from Chris Russell (manager) and he told me he would call me back with help, of course a week later and me leaving VMs EVERY DAY he has still not called back! Called the GM, Scott and still no answer! Don’t buy from this dealership!!! The worst service I have ever seen!!!! More
***Scam alert*** like most reviews posted earlier. This dealership is ready to LIE/CHEAT/SCAM in ways you can’t even imagine. They post the MSRP on their website and show that multiple 2022 palisades are a dealership is ready to LIE/CHEAT/SCAM in ways you can’t even imagine. They post the MSRP on their website and show that multiple 2022 palisades are available to get a ton of potential customers into their dealership, and this is when the scamming begins. First they give you a print out of sticker price and spend time discussing details on color/preferences to get you firmly into “buying mindset” then starts the “market adjustments” /Extended warranties or dealership add ons.. they will NEVER clearly tell u abt any off these markups over the phone. I have escalated this issue to store manager and turns out its an organized scamming business. Extremely rude/unprofessional/unethical dealership i have seen , save yourself a trip and take your business elsewhere where you as a customer is valued for your business. Its a well thought out scam , they are very well prepared to handle an irate customer who doesn't budge to their “market adjustments “ More
I love my car, but Ron Carter Hyundai was a terrible experience! Read other reviews and that was our case too. The most unpleasant car purchase ever. Manager (Paul Hewitt) and salesperson (Arin Robeson experience! Read other reviews and that was our case too. The most unpleasant car purchase ever. Manager (Paul Hewitt) and salesperson (Arin Robeson) did not work well together. Ms. Robeson made some promises that she never kept. Do not believe anything she says and request to get the information from her manager if you want to avoid "misunderstandings". More
Stay far away! They will smile in your face and stab you in the back. Car shopping is inherently stressful, but everyone here was reasonably nice at first. I did the typical dance with the salesman where in the back. Car shopping is inherently stressful, but everyone here was reasonably nice at first. I did the typical dance with the salesman where they pretend like you have to add every single extra warranty. I declined them all and we eventually agreed on the price. I finally get back to the financial manager (Jimmy Kirby) and he goes through everything very quickly. There was one warranty on the leather that he insisted was "included" in the price I'd already agreed on with the salesman, despite me questioning it. I should have looked more closely, but after 6 hours at the dealer I was exhausted (which is of course one of their tactics). When I got home, I saw that the "included" leather warranty actually tacked an additional $950 onto my loan. I immediately emailed the financial manager to point out the error and he again insisted that it was included. I pointed out the difference in price from what I had agreed to with the salesman and at that point he admitted it was a "misunderstanding" and had me sign a cancellation form and said that the refund would be applied to my account in about 60 days. Now we are almost 4 months out and no refund has been applied and no one will answer my calls or emails. I have tried to get in contact with the financial manager, the general manager and the general customer service email to get a status update with zero response. Would not recommend this dealer to anyone. UPDATE: A couple weeks after posting this review on Google, I received a call from their Customer Relations Manager, Deedee. Guess they didn't like the bad press. She refers me to their Finance Director, Shane, who does not respond. For a month, I go round and round with Deedee as she tries to find someone who can help. At one point I was told that there was nothing to cancel (then why did I sign a cancellation form?) and eventually was routed back to Jimmy who leaves me a voicemail saying they can't honor the cancellation because I "agreed to the price." I mean, I also agreed to/signed the cancellation, but whatever. It's clear to me that the entire thing was a scam. If the price was truly set in stone, they could have said that back in January when I asked to cancel or at any point in the 5 months after that as I tried to follow up rather than being cowards and wasting my time. It's terrible customer service and just a really awful way to treat people in general. More
Will never do business with any Ron Carter company in the future. They have $8000 of my money AND my traded-in Ram 1500, and I still have no car (been waiting 36 days now). I would not recommend under any circumstances. I bought my second vehicle from this particular dealer. The first car I bought years ago was a great car and the deal was easy to complete. I went to t my second vehicle from this particular dealer. The first car I bought years ago was a great car and the deal was easy to complete. I went to the dealer yesterday at 2 pm to test drive the new vehicle I wanted and was not able to leave until after 5:30pm. Here is why: They spent a hour with the sales guy supposedly going to finance or someone who will okay the deal. Literally haggling for an hour! They lowballed my trade in and just tried in every way to get more money. They are unprofessional and just out for a commisson. They tried to sell me a Platinum plan for 3 k. Then added 2k to sticker price and when asked why; “Covid” and its a high demand for cars. Here is an idea of what i am telling you. The car listed for 39k They added 2 k for Covid on top of sticker They added 2 k for service plan They added 3150 for platinum plan So, 39k car they tried to offer to me for “47k”. I actually got frustrated with all the scams and back and forth. I told them I was leaving.................THEN it was okay. We can sell it for 38,500! Thats what I paid for the car but I am telling you they will rip you off if you do not read everything and do not believe all the lies about Covid pricing and what not. I would never ever again buy a car or use that dealership for anything at all. Its a shame.................dont walk.........run from these guys! More
