Bait‑and‑Switch, Criminal Rate Markup, and a Manager Who Threatened to Keep My Deposit I visited Bill Page Toyota (Falls Church, VA) after receiving a low lease quote from Online Sales Rep Taylor K. Arbu Threatened to Keep My Deposit I visited Bill Page Toyota (Falls Church, VA) after receiving a low lease quote from Online Sales Rep Taylor K. Arbuckle. I drove nearly 2 hours from my home based on that low quote. I came in ready to buy, only to discover that Taylor had quoted me for the wrong trim — the one I actually wanted had a slightly higher MSRP. I was immediately passed off to salesman Menelik "Junior" Alemayehu. Before any numbers were discussed, he took me for a test drive — but would not let me leave the parking garage. I drove the truck in circles around the garage. During the drive, he openly admitted he didn't know much about the Tacoma because he "doesn't really sell trucks." After the test drive, Junior disappeared for nearly 20 minutes to run a lease quote. I sat there waiting. When he finally came back, the payment was 1,000 more MSRP. A $1,000 difference in vehicle price does not increase a monthly lease payment by $140. That's not how math works. The difference wasn't the trim — it was the money factor (interest rate) . The original quote used 6% APR ; his quote used 9.5% APR. That's a nearly 60% markup on the interest rate. Pure rate gouging. When I called him on it, he flatly told me he could not negotiate the money factor and would only discuss the vehicle price. I pleaded with him to lower the rate or the price because 9.5% is criminal. His response? He said the discount was "already fair" — at only 4.4% when I had shown him JD Power data proving the average discount is 6%. He then pressured me to choose a vehicle and sign that day, telling me the truck wouldn't last. When I asked about a deposit to reserve it, he asked for $1,000. I asked if the price would be guaranteed if I gave them the deposit. He admitted the price was NOT guaranteed and could increase by the time the truck arrived in a month. I asked him to put in writing that my deposit would be refundable if we couldn't agree on a final price. His response? "A handshake will have to do." He then said: "It would be unethical if I kept your deposit and the price increased that much in a month." — which tells you everything. He knew the price could change, he knew he'd keep my money anyway, and he said it out loud like that made it okay. At that point, he called his manager, Diego Garcia, to see if the dealership would agree to a refundable deposit if the price drastically increased in a month. Diego got on the phone and — in front of me — said: "No, I will gladly keep his money and just sell the car to someone else if he doesn't want it." I stood up, told him this was unacceptable, and walked out. The next day, I received a canned email from Diego Garcia asking if he had "done something to offend me." The audacity is staggering. To be clear: I did NOT give them my $1,000. But the fact that they tried to pressure me into a non‑refundable deposit while refusing to guarantee the price — all while marking up the interest rate by nearly 60% — tells you everything you need to know about how this dealership treats customers. For comparison: Every other Toyota dealership I contacted offers fully refundable deposits and guarantees the negotiated price when you place a deposit. Bill Page Toyota is the only one that refuses to guarantee the price and threatens to keep your money if you walk away. That alone should tell you where to take your business. Do not trust Bill Page Toyota with your money. Get everything in writing. And if Taylor Arbuckle, Menelik Alemayehu, or Diego Garcia are your contacts - run! More

I know this is hard to believe but my experience purchasing a new 26 BZ from Bill Page Toyota was a great experience. Can’t say that’s true about any other cars I purchased over the years. I though purchasing a new 26 BZ from Bill Page Toyota was a great experience. Can’t say that’s true about any other cars I purchased over the years. I thought the deal was fair and the trade in value was exactly what I expected. The entire sales team was a pleasure to work with. Especially my sales guy Sultan, he made the process very smooth from start to finish. Also thank you Dawit Alemayehu (finance) he’s great to work with too. More
Exceptional at Selling, Abysmal at Servicing – Avoid This Service Center I purchased a brand-new RAV4 from Bill Page Toyota just one month ago. Almost immediately, the vehicle began making a concerning no Service Center I purchased a brand-new RAV4 from Bill Page Toyota just one month ago. Almost immediately, the vehicle began making a concerning noise from the brakes. Despite the car being brand new and under warranty, the service experience has been a total nightmare. I booked two separate appointments, explicitly stating the reason for the visit both times. Both appointments were confirmed. However, upon arrival, I was met with complete incompetence and rude behavior: The "Runaround": I was shuffled from one counter to another with no one taking responsibility. Capacity Excuses: I was told they "didn't have a mechanic" for this specific work that day, yet I observed numerous mechanics working and a steady stream of other vehicles being taken in for service. If you don't have the capacity, why confirm the appointment? The Ultimate Insult: After wasting my time, the staff told me to "go to another dealer" for service. Why wasn’t I told during the sales process that Bill Page Toyota is unable or unwilling to service the cars they sell? It is highly suspicious that as soon as a repair falls under warranty—meaning the dealership can’t charge me a high retail rate—they suddenly lack the "mechanics" to fix it. It is incredibly unprofessional to dismiss a new customer and tell them to seek help elsewhere. If you value your time and expect basic respect after spending tens of thousands of dollars, take your business to a dealership that actually values its customers beyond the initial sale. More

He tells me to feel out another application he can get me a better rate. Then came back and said that my credit score was in the low 500's and that he could do 16% rate. My credit score is not in the 500's first of all. It didnt matter anyway cause I already had an approval. Honestly he did not want to sale me a luxury car. I knew everything he said was xx. I was just ready to leave cause I wasn't that impressed with the vehicle anyway. So I am glad things turned out the way they did. Its just the fact that he totally was disregarding and every thing I was saying like I didnt know what I was talking about. Don't know what his deal was, I could guess but there is no need. Not worth the time in saying. Just remember to go off of your first instinct when dealing with people. I had a bad vibe immediatley when I got there. More
