I notice a growling noise starting on my 2019 hyundai santa fe it also needed a oil change. I called in January to make a appointment to have it checked out they where able to complete the oil change, t santa fe it also needed a oil change. I called in January to make a appointment to have it checked out they where able to complete the oil change, the Boucher service inspection, and tire rotation in January but at the time Boucher hyundai was really busy, and the earliest I could get the noise checked out was February 15. After the oil change I noticed the noise had not changed and sounds like it is coming from the rear. If it was a tire issue the noise should have changed if the tire rotation was done. I had talked with Rob about the noise and I told him I would like to have one of their techs hear it so when my wife dropped the car off they would know what noise I am hearing. Rob said they don't let techs go out with customers but to see service advisor Alex Hanson I stopped on February 10 and took Alex for a test drive and he said he heard the noise coming from the rear. This car currently has 62936 miles on it. It has a 100000 mile warranty on it. My wife had to get vehicle from enterprise as Boucher had no loaner vehicle. I got a call from Alex around 3:00 telling me that they could not find any mechanical problems with the car, but the tires had some uneven wear on them. He said they rotated the tires and the noise went from the rear to the front. He also said my brake pads are at 30% front and 40 % rear and that I should have them replace all four tires and all brake pads and Rotors. I had just replace the tires in October 2020 and they have only 24000 miles on them. I have been a mechanic for over 50 years I bought the hyundai Sante fe because they have a awesome warranty. We love the santa fe and the Boucher sales department is top notch, but their service dept absolutely sucks!!! 1st of all if they had done the tire rotation in January the noise would have changed or moved. 2nd Alex tried to sell me on having them replace the tires with 7/32 of tread on them and all brake pads and Rotors. 3rd after I turned them down on the tires and brakes Alex said I owed them $189.00. This was to rotate the tires and inspect the vehicle. THIS WAS ALL SUPPOSE TO BE COMPLETED IN JANUARY WITH THE OIL CHANGE. After I explained to Alex that this not the cause of the noise and that noise should have changed or moved if it was from uneven tire wear he keep trying to sell me tires and brakes. He eventually drop the price $165.91 for worked that was suppose to be done in January and a car wash. AND GUESS WHAT THE NOISE IS STILL COMING FROM THE REAR!!!! I guess at this point I will just have keep driving the vehicle until noise gets to the point of seizing up and then we can have a tow truck drag it in. This not the only problem I have had with the Boucher hyundai service dept. I had them do a wheel alignment on it. When we got it back it pulled and the steering wheel was off center. I took it back and they had for a week before they got it correct. We decided in October of 2020 to replace the tires Boucher had sale going on and if you bought all four tires they would perform a wheel alignment at no charge. When I picked up the vehicle they tried to charge me for a alignment. We had the oil changed last summer they always complete a inspection form and like to check the form to see if was any problems developing. This form was only partially filled out.there was no info on the tires or brake pads. I let Boucher know and supposedly they talked to their tech about. On the next oil change the same tech decided that everything was worn out or faulty with the vehicle. I guess he just covering his butt. Like I said earlier my wife and I have great respect for the Boucher hyundai sales dept, but are very disappointed with thier service dept. I have no problem paying for legit repairs but I have been in this business too long to try and pull some crap over on me. Buying a new car today has been tough due to limited new cars available. Alex Dominguez did a great job in finding the car we wanted and getting it a week later.
