"Best car buying experience I have ever had"

Jes was exceptional in helping me with my new car. He explained the different trim lines for my 4runner. He did not pressure me at all. Once I decided what I wanted, he guided me through the purchase, trade in and financing. Jes took care of everything in a professional manner. He told me what paperwork I needed to bring and he did the rest. I went to three dealers before Bristol Toyota and my experience was awful at each one. Bristol Toyota and my salesman Jes, should be commended for their professioal and making my car buying experience the best I have ever had.

"Looking for a safe car? Go elsewhere."

We bought a used 2015 Sienna in April 2018, it is now only August 2018. At the time we had a two year old and were expecting identical twins so we needed a safe and reliable vehicle to transport our three children. It is the only car we have that can transport children, my husband drives a work truck. We did have a good experience actually buying the car and we appreciated how nice our salesman was. BUT, fast forward to now, our twins were born over 2 months premature and have been in the hospital NICU over a month. We noticed a funny sound when we were breaking, so we brought it to a Toyota service building closer to our house thinking it was a quick fix and because we are driving back and forth to the hospital to see our babies so we don’t have extra time to drive out of our way back to bristol. Our brakes were completely gone. Metal on metal. It was a $1000 repair. We called bristol Toyota multiple times and they said they would call us back. Our original salesman was trying to help, but he told us management would call us .... crickets. Not only did they sell us an unsafe car to transport our extremely fragile preemies and toddler, but they’ve done nothing to try to rectify or help the situation. Super disappointed, I absolutely don’t trust any car they are selling and wouldn’t recommend anyone looking for a safe car buying from there.

Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention and congratulations of the birth of twins. I hope they are doing well. Bristol Toyota prides itself on selling reliable, quality pre-owned vehicles and we stand behind those vehicles. The vehicle you purchased underwent a thorough mechanical and appearance reconditioning process prior to it being offered for sale. In fact, the dealership spent $1,787.38 in mechanical repairs and maintenance prior to your purchase. The brakes at that time were measured to be in spec and should have provided many months and miles of service prior to needing replacement. Whenever there is an issue or problem with a used vehicle, we ask that the consumer bring it to our Service Department for inspection and resolution. Your vehicle has a 12 month, 12,000 mile comprehensive warranty extension from Toyota which would have covered the repairs if any of the brake components (calipers, for instance) were faulty and caused a premature or uneven wearing of the front brake pads. Instead, the vehicle was brought to another Toyota dealership 7.8 miles away who charged you for repairs that might have been covered by your warranty. I understand that you did not authorize that dealership to replace the rear pads. Please allow us to inspect the condition of the rear brakes at Bristol Toyota so we can determine the condition, and cause if any, of excess wear of your rear brake pads and rotors. We would be happy to pick up your vehicle, provide a loaner vehicle, and drop it back off after we have had a chance to inspect the condition of the rear brakes and make any necessary repairs. Additionally, we would take the opportunity to inspect the operation of the front brakes and all components to ensure their proper operation. As requested by Victor Sousa in our Service Department, I am hopeful that the other Toyota dealership provided you the replaced front brake parts for inspection since there premature failure is unusual. You may contact me directly at 401-533-5955 so that we may address your concerns fully. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase and we stand behind every vehicle that we sell.
