I felt like being cheated I had been very pleased with Byers' service department over the years. It was the main reason why I had been taking my vehicles there for service eve I had been very pleased with Byers' service department over the years. It was the main reason why I had been taking my vehicles there for service even when there was another Toyota dealership near my home. About a year ago, my vehicle had a front end alignment when it had only 19K miles on the odometer, I asked if the alignment was still ok this time (28K on the odometer). I was told that the alignment failed. I was showed a printout from the gadget that detected the alignment when a vehicle was driven into the service bay. So, I agreed to have another alignment service. Here are the results: - Before the alignment: Left front camber failed (-1.3 degrees); Steer Ahead failed (0.06 degrees) - After the alignment: Left from camber was still at -1.3 degrees and passed. Steer Ahead was at 0.05 degrees and passed. Can an alignment pass or fail just by one hundredth of a degree on the Steer Ahead? The left front camber can pass or fail at the same setting of -1.3 degrees? Should the advice to customers whether an alignment is needed be based on more accurate measurement rather than the gadget on the floor at the entrance of the service bay? More
I asked them to check for rodent damage and was quoted a price of $99 I agreed so when they were finished there was no charge for that just the alignment.
