Do NOT trust the dealership financing I bought a car here on June 5th. I waited a while to review to make sure emotions didn’t affect my review. I’m happy with my vehicle, and the salesman I bought a car here on June 5th. I waited a while to review to make sure emotions didn’t affect my review. I’m happy with my vehicle, and the salesman seemed nice enough. We went back and forth on the price until he asked what would cause me to buy the car without looking elsewhere. I wrote down a price and told him if I can walk away with that price, out the door, we’ve got a deal. He checked with the manager and said we had a deal. The thing that has caused me to never to buy anything from Pre-owned Capital Toyota again and recommend as many people away from it as possible is due to what happened next. I dealt with Joe in financing. He attempted to increase the final price after we had already agreed on an “out the door” price. The price increased $8,000. He said “the end price doesn’t matter, it’s the monthly payment most people budget for.” He said even though we agreed on an “out the door” price, taxes and fees are extra. I had to explain to Joe from finance what “out the door” meant. The salesman and the manager came in the room with me and Joe and after telling them that the price we had written down on paper had now increased on Joes computer, they all had different views of what was agreed upon. After fighting back and forth trying to make Pre-owned Capital Toyota stand behind their word, the price was still $2,000 more than what we had agreed upon but by that time they had worn me down. Joe also told me he got me the best interest rate (4.74%) I qualified for which turns out not to be true. I purchased the vehicle and trusted Joe more than I should have. I went to pay my payment the first month and the bank had no record of a loan. The dealership had failed to submit all the required paperwork which meant there was no loan. The dealership scrambled to get everything done and then once everything was put in, I received a late notice in the mail even though I tried to pay the day it was due. I spoke with the bank and after an hour and a half conversation, we got it worked out. The bank, Scenic Community Credit Union, told me I qualified for a lower rate but Joe has incentives to get the customer to agree to a higher rate. After looking around, I refinanced at a rate of 2.75%. Moral of the story is don’t use Preowned Capital Toyota financing as you can save a couple thousand dollars over 5 years by securing financing at your own bank of choice. Also, note the final agreed upon price in writing before going to sign the documents as they will try to increase that in several different ways. When I refinanced, the new bank thought it was funny the dealership snuck in a $899 gap insurance fee in the loan as the new credit union only charges $395. At the end of the day, I wish I had just gone through my own financing in the first place and purchased from CarMax so I wouldn’t have to worry about the price being inflated after the deal was made. More

He was professional,, respectful, and went above and beyond in providing information about the vehicle I was considering at Capital. Great car buying experience I contacted Capital Toyota just to see if they had a specific vehicle in stock. There was not one in stock, but the salesperson said one would be ar I contacted Capital Toyota just to see if they had a specific vehicle in stock. There was not one in stock, but the salesperson said one would be arriving by the end of the month. I was not in a hurry so that was fine. Long story short, the vehicle came in as expected and we drove it home after a test drive. The salespersons Alicia and Josh were great ro work with. Also, Craig, the finance person was a great help as well. I would recommend buying a Toyota from this dealership. More
Amazing experience I was preapproved with my credit union and went to buy car. Patrick took time to let me see the 4runner I thought I wanted but when I had reservations I was preapproved with my credit union and went to buy car. Patrick took time to let me see the 4runner I thought I wanted but when I had reservations about the lack of space in the 3rd row, he showed me the highlander and it was everything I wanted! They really worked with me on everything and treated me respectfully. When it came time to sign the agreement, they were able to offer me a better rate than my credit union. I am very impressed More
