Hello Gamecock73, Please accept my apology for the service you received. Without knowing the specifics of your situation, I would guess that you visited with one of our express lube department employees, and that you may have visited him or her later in the day. Generally, the time required to diagnose a service or check engine light is an hour, and additional time is required for repairs. This function is generally performed in our main shop and the majority of our customers leave their vehicles for a half day to a day. Unlike our main shop, our express lube has extended hours in the afternoon and is set up to perform express services in less than an hour. Additionally, our express lube technicians have been specifically trained to perform oil changes in less than 15 minutes. Based on your description of the problem, I believe that the service advisor neglected to offer solutions for the issue. He or she should have offered to perform the oil change and rescheduled the check engine light when the resources were anticipated to be available. I would like to discuss this further so I can fully understand the details of the visit and ensure that it does not occur again. Hi Cathy, I am sorry that you were charged for repairs that you felt should have been free. My research shows that you own a 2006 PT Cruiser with over 99,000 mile on the odometer. Given the current miles on the car, the warranty from the manufacturer has long since expired. I can assure you that if the warranty was still in effect, we would have gladly charged Chrysler. It was my understanding that another shop had just performed major repairs on your vehicle and might have been unable to perform the computer flash. Hello Alanis, please accept my apology for the problems you encountered. Your vehicle was not on the Saturday morning schedule, although I know you set the appointment because you received a confirmation e-mail. I contacted our IT department in Phoenix regarding the issue, and they determined that the appointment did not get on the schedule because a service advisor was not selected. As of today they are setting up the system to default to an advisor when no advisor is selected. Regarding the time required to get the vehicle in the shop and the time required to performed the recall, the service advisor was providing an estimate which was somewhat excessive. Yes, your vehicle may need to wait to get into the shop if the technicians are already working on other cars , and the recall could take a while if the effected recall parts are rusted, but (again) several hours does sound excessive. In addition to correcting the scheduling problem, we have also addressed the customer service issues with the individuals you spoke with.
