Finally part of the Subaru Family! Being an avid skier and having a son studying in Canada, we needed a AWD car and we decided to go with Subaru. My son purchased an used 2005 Subaru W Being an avid skier and having a son studying in Canada, we needed a AWD car and we decided to go with Subaru. My son purchased an used 2005 Subaru WRX 3 years ago with a private owner and we realized how great Subaru cars are! Our friend recommended Flemington Subaru because of their great services and reliability and we decided it was worth to drive 1h15. We dealt with Frank DeCraine and Chris Wood, and we already felt we were part of the Subaru family as soon as we entered the dealership. We traded our VW Golf for a brand new Impreza Sport. Frank and Chris were very imformative and professional and guide us to pick our new car. Eric Henderson helped us with our financing options and once again we felt comfortable and not pushed in any decisions. I highly recommend this dealership and those 3 men. We even decided to service our car there when needed in spite of 1h15 drive because we are so comfortable there. (we do have closer Subaru dealerships near us) We also plan to trade in the future 2 other cars and get used Subaru for the rest of our family! Thank you again Frank DeCraine, Chris Wood and Eric Henderson! We will be back !!!!! More
CrossTrec Matt Hoppe is NOT your typical car salesman. He is NOT pushy, he does NOT wear the bling and, MOST OF ALL, he does NOT take you for an idiot. I HAT Matt Hoppe is NOT your typical car salesman. He is NOT pushy, he does NOT wear the bling and, MOST OF ALL, he does NOT take you for an idiot. I HATE shopping for cars in NJ as my last 2 purchases have been out of state. Too much fake gold watches and big rings at the NJ dealerships, but Matt has been a breath of fresh air. I could have gotten the car $500 cheaper elsewhere, but Matt was just too nice and came through as purely honest. More
A great (barely) used car and a happy customer Due to an unfortuate problem with a 13 year old car, I needed a replacement. I knew I was looking at a compact SUV and a Forester was in the list of w Due to an unfortuate problem with a 13 year old car, I needed a replacement. I knew I was looking at a compact SUV and a Forester was in the list of what I was considering. I hadn't looked at Flemington's used inventory, so I walked in expecting to look at (and test drive, etc) a new one. Greeted very nicely by Tom Plante. To try and short-circuit any sort of "hard sell" (from too many experiences in the past - generally - with the stereotypical "car salesman"), I told him straight off that I wouldn't respond well to it. He explained that wasn't his approach anyway and that, as a dealership, they don't believe in doing that. He showed me the current Forester and asked about my list of desired features. Given that it started (and mostly ended) with "all-wheel-drive, and I know that's built in", it was going to be easy to consider. I'd had an Outback for a couple of years starting in 2002 so I was familiar with the brand and the way the cars are built. [The Outback also turned into an "unfortunate problem" that required a quick remedy - my then-wife insisted on a different car.] Tom started talking about some of the available trim lines and as we discussed the "yeah, that's nice" and "don't care" aspects, he asked if I would consider a Certified Pre-Owned car. I will admit to being a bit leery at first. He then went on to explain that a CPO comes with a great powertrain warranty (7 yr / 100K mi) and can add an extended bumper-to-bumper to match. Still uncertain, he checked the inventory. This is where Frank DeCraine enters the picture. Frank is great at finding (barely) used inventory to keep on their lot. There was a 2017 Forester with less than 10K miles on it. As Tom said, it was most likely an "executive" car. [In fact, looking at the records for the car, it was "born" (first-sale) in February, 2017.] So, it was, effectively, a brand-new vehicle with a great warranty that would be a bit cheaper than one that had just come off the transport truck. A test drive and the *AMAZING* treatment by Tom (and Frank and the general manger, Tim) made up my mind for me. I knew that I was a bit under the gun (personal urgency, no pressure from sales) to make a decision one way or another. I'd considered, and test-drove, a couple of other cars at other dealerships, but there was just no reasonable way this didn't make the most sense. Between getting a decent price for it (thank you, Frank!), and an awesome car, I told them that I wanted to get it done. That was Tuesday. By Friday, I was sitting in it and driving it home. [The delay was entirely my own to arrange for my own financing. I know they would've been happy to have me headed out in the car that very same day.] When the time came, Eric was fun to chat with while we were going through the paperwork and made sure that everything was set up both for the (final) add-ons that matched what I needed and wanted. I wound up getting the extended warranty to make it the matching bumper-to-bumper, and tires/wheels (because I know I'm a tire-killer and I've replaced too many rims in my life). Throughout the entire process, no hard sell from anyone on anything - just genuine courtesy for me as a customer and more helping me to make the decisions that were best for me, not just to "sell a car". Top shelf from start to finish From the minute I walked into Flemington Subaru with my granddaughter until we drove off in a brand new Crosstrek the service and attention was as pro From the minute I walked into Flemington Subaru with my granddaughter until we drove off in a brand new Crosstrek the service and attention was as professional as I've ever experienced at a car dealer. That includes 2 Mercedes purchases over the past 5 years. Tom Plante could not have been more helpful and accommodating. He was extremely helpful in "building" the perfect car, candidly offering the advantages and disadvantages of the myriad of features. My granddaughter had her heart set on an exterior/ interior combination and features that made it very difficult to locate. Undaunted, Tom was relentless in locating the exact car in another state and pulled out all stops to get it delivered on time for surprise birthday gift. During the approximately 2 week search, there were many occasions when I would call Tom for updates and various questions. Regardless of when I reached out he responded very quickly and courteously. That included many emails or texts over the weekend. Yes, he gave me his cell number. When the car was ultimately delivered the back end of the paperwork was handled by Eric Hendersen who maintained the same level of professionalism as Tom. He made the process both seamless and pain free. The entire process of purchasing our car at Flemington Subaru was truly pleasant if not enjoyable. In large part this was directly related to the quality of the product as well as the team that sold it to us. More
