Top-Notch VW Dealership My wife and I were in the early stages of shopping for a crossover vehicle (like every other millennial couple in Chicago) when we stopped by The Auto My wife and I were in the early stages of shopping for a crossover vehicle (like every other millennial couple in Chicago) when we stopped by The Autobarn to check out their wares. We honestly weren't planning on buying anything that afternoon. Mostly we were hoping to test drive Tiguans while my wife winced and gritted her teeth because I drive "like an oblivious Irish grandma." But that's neither here nor there. The following circumstances made us comfortable enough to make a purchase. 1.) The Autobarn happened to have a 2017 Tiguan model with the "Limited" trim level. Whereas "Limited" usually denotes a fancy-pants trim level with luxuries such as pop-up tweeters, bespoke mechanical clocks, and silver-plated champagne flutes (look it up), "Limited" in this case is a stripped down, budget-friendly/high-value Tiguan. No leatherette, spartan steering wheel, smaller infotainment screen, etc. While some ritzy types may bristle at this lack of features, it was perfect for me and my wife because it dropped the vehicle comfortably into our price range. 2.) Our salesman, John Gordon, was a pleasure to work with. He's a bright, affable guy. Confident, but not pushy. Knowledgable about the mechanical details of the vehicle itself and its accompanying warranty. And he's a big dude, which makes for an effective demonstration when he climbs on top of the car door to show the Tiguan's structural integrity. Impressive. When it came time to work out a deal on the Tiguan, John was thoughtful and fair. At our request, he ordered replacement rims for the vehicle so that we wouldn't have to roll on hubcaps (an unfortunate shortcut on the Limited trim level). John was very responsive when it came time to schedule the wheel replacement, and he also had the shop double-check the Tiguan's brakes. Much appreciated. 3.) The whole setup at The Autobarn is top-notch. Everyone is helpful and friendly, from sales to service to finance. There's a nice waiting area for you to relax in while your vehicle is getting serviced. After they swapped out our wheels they gave the car a complimentary carwash--a small kindness that should go a long way towards keeping customers happy and coming back. This is a great place. Highly recommended. More

Ernie knew exactly the kind of car I wanted and I actually ended up purchasing the very first car he showed me. Sam helped us out by discussing financing and Ernie ushered us through the rest of the process. It was painless and I highly recommenced this dealership to anyone looking for a dependable and safe car! More
