If you're reading this here, it's likely that you're an educated internet consumer. You know which car that you want, how much you should pay for it, and where you stand in terms of credit. It's very unlik educated internet consumer. You know which car that you want, how much you should pay for it, and where you stand in terms of credit. It's very unlikely that some sleazy car salesman will be able to rip you off. But they can still waste a lot of your time trying. During my search for a new Subaru Impreza, I spoke to a number of dealers. None of them flat-out lied to me, but a I did hear a remarkable number of evasive half-truths regarding inventory, pricing, financing, and promotions. It was kind of a disgusting experience. In contrast, my experience with at CitySide Subaru was refreshingly straightforward. They seem to be one of the few Subaru dealers in the area that respects the knowledge of the modern car buyer. Maybe it's because they're sandwiched between the BlackBerry-carrying professionals of the Route 128 corridor and the iPhone-carrying academics of Cambridge/Somerville. Or maybe it's because their customer care manager (Rob Krasow) has an iPad on his desk and thus knows that anyone can confirm their own FICO score while sitting on a toilet. You'd think that everyone would understand this by now, but sadly it's just not the case. In summary: thanks to the internet, you're probably capable of getting a good deal anywhere (or at least knowing when to walk out). But if you want that deal with a minimum of frustration, I encourage you to check out CitySide. Side note: their customer waiting area is a bit cramped and I couldn't get on their wireless internet. Annoying, but not enough to ding them any points. More
Appreciated the low key yet attentive service and explanation of the vehicle. There was no pressure to buy, even though I was fairly certain I would buy the car. We had already made the decision to get a Forester before we arrived at Cityside, after rejecting one dealership as unfriendly and sleazy-feeling. Dealing with insurance and getting title and registration was seamless - they took care of it all for a price. I do wish I had had the price of that service beforehand, but I would still have opted for it. More

We have just moved to Boston from Finland and we were buying our first car here. After long and hard consideration we decided to buy Subaru Outback. To get to Cityside Subaru without a car was no problem buying our first car here. After long and hard consideration we decided to buy Subaru Outback. To get to Cityside Subaru without a car was no problem because our salesman Alexey picked us up from Alewife T station. And not just for one time but four times altogether!(for the first and the second testdrive, to check our actual car when it arrived to the dealer and finally for the delivery) Once after our visit he even drove us straight back to our home with his own car. You can call that Customer Service! Every part of the process went well. Only little minus I have to mention is about closing up the final price of the car with all the accessories we wanted. From the emails we changed with Alexey and Robert we got the impression that the price they gave us included all the accessories. When we were signing the deal we found out that we were supposed to pay about $500 for the accessories. After a short negotiation we ended up paying about $100 for those. The mix up had something to do with our TruCarPrice and the fact that we searched the price for 2010 model and finally bought 2011 model. That mix up was not a big deal for us anyway. In conclusion we were very happy with the way we were treated at Cityside Subaru. Special thanks to Alexey but all the other persons we were dealing with were really nice as well. Br, T&S More
Peter was immediately welcoming and seemed very interested in hearing what i was looking for in a car. At no point did i feel pressured--to the contrary, he put me at ease and made the whole experi interested in hearing what i was looking for in a car. At no point did i feel pressured--to the contrary, he put me at ease and made the whole experience a kind of exploration. During our test drive, he explained the various features of the car clearly and enthusiastically. I had fun deciding on extra features and Peter seemed to enjoy that i was enjoying the process. It was my best experience buying a car. I've already recommended Peter to my friends and family who are looking for a car. More
Subaru was the car I wanted, and Peter showed me why. I went to two different Subaru dealerships.
