Not happy with diagnostics I bought my 2nd car from Colonial Hyundai Downingtown....Katie Schaffer First, I had to bring the car back because it needed an oil change that should I bought my 2nd car from Colonial Hyundai Downingtown....Katie Schaffer First, I had to bring the car back because it needed an oil change that should have been done before being sold. Then I brought the car back in for service because I was experiencing issues with the transmission where the engine would rev while the transmission was catching up. I left my car there all day and when I picked it up, they said they couldn't get the car to display what I had described. This determination came from a 4 mile drive and no diagnostic. No transmission flush or factory reset was recommended. I was so mad, i stopped bringing my car in for normal service and instead went to a local mechanic. As my car continued to display this revving of engine, I became more and more frustrated. Finally, it happened when I had a passenger in the car (four times in an hour) and they told me I was definitely having transmission issues I needed to get my car into the shop immediately before my warranty ended. I scheduled an appointment and explained why I hadn't been in. JP, who is wonderful to work with, explained that what Hyundai recommends and I ultimately went with his recommendation. However, I told them I had just had my transmission flushed 7,000 miles ago and they still did the flush. I also had an oil change, or at least was charged for one, but a new sticker was not put on the window. Now I have to go back. It is still to early to tell if the flush and reset has worked or not. So far so good, and I hope the issue has finally been resolved. I just wish this had been taken care of when I initially bought the car and brought it in. Honestly, I shouldn't have been charged for this service if the car had been quality inspected before sold. My interactions have been wonderful just not happy with the lack of effort diagnosing the transmission with my car years ago. More
Lax attention to detail For the 2nd time in a row when I brought my car into be serviced I came out the following morning to find fluid dripping from the passenger side of th For the 2nd time in a row when I brought my car into be serviced I came out the following morning to find fluid dripping from the passenger side of the car and a bluish fluid pooling the front wheel and running out of my garage. The first time this happened I was alarmed as there also appeared to be black oil mixing in with the blue fluid. I alternated my schedule and immediately brought it back to the service department. I was told at that time that the radiator must have over flowed when they opened the cap and the fluid had pooled in a tray in the front of the car. Today I did not have time to do that and just assumed that is what happened again. I have had this care for 6 years - always serviced by Colonial - and this was not my past experience nor one that I hope is what I can expect in the future. I do not appreciate having to wash down the floor of my garage especially in this weather. More importantly I question if the antifreeze level in my car is optimal. If you have hired new personnel to do the service my rating of them s no longer 5 star. Donna Feliciano still gets at 5+ rating from me. More
