A little Covert History. In 1909, Frank M. Covert, Sr., a real estate and insurance businessman opened the first automobile dealership in Central Texas. Three years later, his son, Clarence Covert, Sr., joined him to form the Austin Buick Sales Company, which became the foundation for Covert Buick, Inc., the oldest Buick dealership in Texas today. Frank M. Covert Sr. was succeeded in the business by his two sons, Frank Covert Jr. and Clarence Covert Sr. Frank Covert, Jr. had one son, Dr. Frank M. Covert III, who chose not to join the family business and instead became a surgeon. He is now retired from the practice of medicine and resides in Austin. Thank you for your response. I have already attempted resolution directly with dealership management. After purchasing my 2021 Chevrolet pickup from Covert, the vehicle remained in your Bastrop service department for approximately three weeks. Shortly thereafter, the transmission failed and the truck has now been in a Kansas Chevrolet dealership for an additional three weeks pending replacement under the extended warranty sold at the time of purchase. The vehicle has therefore been out of service for a combined period exceeding six weeks. As a direct result, I incurred a $260 flight expense and have experienced substantial loss of use and disruption of scheduled obligations. I am formally requesting reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses and consideration of warranty extension due to the extended downtime and failure occurring shortly after purchase. I am prepared to provide all documentation, including repair orders and expense records, and look forward to a timely resolution.
