Unscheduled service engine light & car not running right. I brought vehicle in 0730. Service dept said I had to leave auto, offered no loaner or help with timeline for diagnosis, repair, or rental car. I brought vehicle in 0730. Service dept said I had to leave auto, offered no loaner or help with timeline for diagnosis, repair, or rental car. I asked if I could wait a few hours for diagnosis, to better determine my next course of action. She said I could not wait in the customer lounge, that it was for customers only. I'm not sure what she thought I was (after going to this dealership for about 30 years and buying/having repairs on 4 vehicles there). After involving owner, I was given a loaner car. Service rep called that afternoon with diagnosis (after telling me it could take unknown days diagnostic time). and said vehicle would be ready the next day (after originally telling me 5-7 days repair time). Service rep called at 10:30 am the next morning to tell me vehicle was ready. She did apply the appropriate credit for my Ally contract. I'm sure glad I contacted the owner. I know he doesn't agree with original treatment. This is the worst experience I've ever had here until I involved the owner. Usually their help and service are superb. I would suggest a different procedure for unscheduled/emergency repairs, rather than trying to punish customer because they couldn't schedule repair time. More
