Hello FLR Automotive, We appreciate the feedback regarding your recent visit. Our service department, including Will, follow strict Volkswagen manufacturer protocols to ensure the safety of your vehicle’s electronic systems. During the key programming process, a battery must pass a specific health test to maintain a constant voltage; if the battery is failing, attempting to program a key can cause permanent damage to the vehicle's onboard computers. In this instance, we were unable to reach a working conclusion because our diagnostic findings were not accepted. While we understand you have your own mechanical experience, we must stand by our professional assessment and the requirements set by VW. Because you were determined to have the repair handled in a way that contradicted our safety standards, we felt it was best to return your key and conclude the service to avoid any potential damage to your vehicle.
