Although I had a positive experience with my salesperson, I had a very negative experience in the finance department as a first time buyer of a vehicle. It's quite a bummer that I had taken the finance guy, I had a very negative experience in the finance department as a first time buyer of a vehicle. It's quite a bummer that I had taken the finance guy, Jeff's word for what he was saying, but it turns out it was more so to sell me on something that was completely voluntary. Despite having great credit, Jeff insisted that he fought with the bank to get me a better rate which would only be granted provided I buy the $995 total car package. Although he made such claims, he did not provide any proof validating this nor did he show us what the payment would be with or without the coverage. Unfortunately, I let my excitement get to me as a first time buyer of a vehicle that I didn't ask the questions I should have in regards to seeing the proof of his statements and the rate with or without the protection plan. I just took his word for it when he said not having the plan would only lower my payment by "a few cents..." Later on when reading through the documentation, I come to find out that any additional warranties, protection plans, and coverages are entirely voluntary and have no effect on the financing rates or the dealership's decision to lease the vehicle. Upon finding this information I went back to the dealership the following day to receive a refund for this due to the fact that I was told a blatant lie about getting the better payment provided I get this additional protection. Even after the fact of returning to the dealership and discussing this matter with Jeff, he continued to sell me on this additional insurance and insisted that it was added in my favor of me receiving better rates. After a 15 minute conversation and him basically saying there was nothing that could be done about removing the coverage and receiving the refund, we asked to speak to a manager. Within an additional 5-7 minutes of waiting Jeff came back and said he would issue a check of $995 to refund the total care protection. Although I am glad that after a great amount of time, persistence, and push back I was able to receive my refund, I am disappointed in the fact that I was taken advantage of.. Furthermore, due to the fact that the monthly payment was already locked in, I am stuck with a higher payment than it initially could have been if I was not lied to about some unnecessary protection plan. More
