Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and FIAT responded

In fact we did sell this customer a pre-owned 2010 Jeep Commander in May of this year. This vehicle was Certified by Chrysler, which provided a 7yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranty and an additional 3 months/3,000 mile bumper-bumper warranty at no charge to the customer. We did in fact hear from the customer at aprox 11,000 miles later in which they stated that the battery needed to be replaced. We do not believe that this is 100% the responsibility of the dealership, but did offer to either provide a battery at a discount or reimburse the customer a percentage if they purchased a battery somewhere else in good faith. Before the vehicle was purchased, the entire vehicle was inspected including the battery which showed no signs of any problems. That being said, there are such as items such as batteries that do fail with time. Both the Service Manager, General Manager and Owner of the dealership spoke with the customer but we did not however feel it was our responsibility to be 100% responsible of a item that passed full inspection at the time, yet failed aprox 11,000 miles and almost 6 months later.
