OK - To start out I guess I always have had a difficult time purchasing a new vehicle. Prior to this experience, I’d been spoiled I guess, since I only purchased Hondas since 1990, and the general sales m time purchasing a new vehicle. Prior to this experience, I’d been spoiled I guess, since I only purchased Hondas since 1990, and the general sales mgr. at Rensselaer Honda was in my golf league, and always took care of me. I always got a fair deal in the past and NEVER paid MSRP for a car before. That was not to be the case this time, or to be fair, either at Della Mazda or Cooley. Early on, I knew from my research online that I wanted a CX-5 GTR model this time. I had a test drive in July and Mr Cummings was excellent in his help with explaining the features and sent me on my way while I gave him my key so my car could get appraised. It became apparent to me that DePaula was going to only sell their cars at MSRP and would rather sell it to someone else if I didn’t want to pay full price. This kind of irked me a bit and I found a similar theme at Mazda dealers in Queensbury and Troy. I test drove a “red” CX-5 and really wanted a white or grey one and so I waited until more cars became available. In fact a white car was available at Della, but I found the salesman there to be a jerk and I didn’t want to travel to Queensbury for service after all. It seems most dealers this time advertised they had product on their lots when in actuality they were likely “still in route” and not available for sale. On Cooley’s website they advertised a white GTR and I called to verify it was on the lot and was assured “Yes” “it is here sir” and when I showed up there with all my documents and checkbook, I found out I had been “bait and switched” and the car was really not on site yet. So, you could say this whole episode has made me a bit bitter. When I did find that DePaula actually had a “grey” model available, I was greeted by Frank Santoro and it was a relief to actually talk to somebody that was knowledgeable and not trying to play me. By the way, one thing you should fix on your website is, you have a link to KBB and it still states to this day that I probably paid too much for this vehicle. The fair market value is much less at $34,369 to $36,782. In the beginning of my effort I sent a fair offer in to “Jayson?” which was right in the middle of the fair market extremes for both my trade-in and the new vehicle price on KBB and it was summarily rejected. Anyway, you asked for my input and you got it. None of your sales people are to blame for my dismay, it’s just the way things are today. I suspect that DePaula is the best Mazda dealer in the area and I won’t have any misgivings about servicing my car at your dealership. (I guess I met your 15 word minimum!) Sorry this turned into a vent session. More
Dealership is very helpful and up front with customers about their car buying process. Definitely makes the customer feel important and understands the car buying experience about their car buying process. Definitely makes the customer feel important and understands the car buying experience More
