I brought up my concerns while I was there, and I was told by Mitch that there was nothing that could be done because that was the price Toyota gave him. I offered to show him the actual contract and he said it wouldn’t make a difference. I also checked with Toyota before I went into Del Toyota because I wanted to make sure I borrowed the right amount of money. None of this mattered. Worse, I was told this information at 5:10 PM and there was nothing I could do at that point because Customer Service closed at 5 pm … of course I was told I could leave & come back at another time.

Mitch at Del Toyota was kind enough to get on a call with a Lexus representative to help get this issue sorted. Lexus/Toyota’s STRATUS app to automatically add a just in case “rental fee”, plus tax, in the event the dealership doesn’t process my lease buyout payment & paperwork by my lease maturity date of May 3. Even though I paid my May payment, and I was at the dealership on April 23, it didn’t matter. It’s something they just started doing per Lexus. IMHO it seems like a way to sit on money that could also be overlooked by someone if they didn’t know what their exact lease buyout was a.k.a. residual value. I would rate Del Toyota 5 stars for helping me resolve the issue! Sorry about the confusion & miscommunication!
