We are responding to your review(s) that were posted this afternoon online; It sounds like you are referring to the excess wear protection you may have purchased on your lease. From your comment, it appears Mr. Calabrese is correct in saying that historically if one of our consumers receives a bill for excess wear they reach out to us or the company that provided the coverage, Ethos Warranty, to help make a claim. Unfortunately, the dealership or warranty company would have no way of knowing you received a bill from GM Financial unless we were notified. We are more than willing to assist you in any way we can with the warranty company & GM Financial. I am glad you were able to contact the 3rd Party company to make the claim. I am extremely sorry they didn't process the claim in a timely fashion. We are more than willing to reach out to them to see why the process took so long and in turn see if they can assist you with the credit concern. We will just need a couple of items of information in order to do so; The claim information with Ethos and a copy of the bill from GMF. Please let us know if you would like our assistance in dealing with the company.

Yes if you could see if they can assist with the credit conern that would be great, sure would have been nice if Maria was more willing to help instead of being all smart mouthed and have an attitude like he did. This does not give me an option to attached the pdf of the claim from Ethos or the copy of the bill, what do you suggest I do?

We will see if Ethos can help you with this concern, and we will do our best to comply with whatever GMF needs to assist. Unfortunately, we cannot write the letter to GMF; we will need Ethos to get involved. Please send the information to our owner at bgenthe@genthe.com, and he will get to work on this today. Additionally, if you are familiar with what GMF is looking for the letter to say, please include that with the other information. Thanks

Dear Mr. Glover- Since receiving your review online, the company has done some extensive research into the purchase made by your Father. Here are the details that have come to light through that investigation. It appears your Father, Mr. Glover, came into the dealership on 8/13 with the intent to trade in his 2004 Dodge Dakota pick-up. He presented himself as a very upbeat gentleman, a Veteran- Marine, who was adamant about getting a new truck. He stated multiple times that he had no interest in considering a lease and only wanted to purchase the vehicle. The salesperson showed your Father several vehicles, including a New Colorado. It appears your Father liked the size of the vehicle, and the sales team presented him with numbers based on obtaining the supplier discount for your Father. Mr. Glover wanted to think about it overnight before he made any decisions. On 8/14, Mr. Glover returned to the dealership to let the salesperson know he decided to take delivery of the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado. At that time, all the paperwork was completed, and he took delivery of his new Colorado. In reviewing his paperwork, it appears that during the delivery, your Father may have purchased several back-end warranty products that increased his payment. As you know, these products are all optional and were presented as such to Mr. Glover. Despite that fact, the company has requested for Mr. Hess to reach out to your Father and discuss some options for him. Based on the findings of that conversation, the company will know what course of action to take so they can best assist your Father, Mr. Glover, in reducing the payment on Colorado. Unfortunately, the paperwork was already processed through the State when the team spoke to you, and therefore a flat cancellation is not possible. Still, there are some options that the team at Dick Genthe Chevrolet will be reviewing with Mr. Glover as soon as possible. We hope that one of these solutions will work for him as he relooks all his options. It is my understanding that he will be visiting the dealership on 08/28/20 @ 1pm to explore these options.

My father is a kind man. He believes everything that anyone tells him. The kind of man who shakes the hand of a cashier for helping him ring up his sale and waves hello to all the other employees just for being present. He is gullible and easily impressed. He absolutely would have bought every single warranty option he was told to buy. Having said that, when he got the first piece of mail about the truck loan he thought his neighbor stole his wallet and took out a loan in his name. He was angry and forgot he bought the truck. When the dealership called to discuss today to discuss the truck, he then remembered and thought he must be late on a payment. We sent a family member down to help him as soon as we heard he went back to the dealer. This is actually the event that is making us take over guardianship and we are going through the process to do it now. He will be moved to a place where the family can be checking in daily and helping him remember where things are. What is troublesome is that the dealership was contacted less than 24 hours of the sale. The situation was explained and the dealership refused to help. That was the time frame where the paperwork was not already processed with the State. The sale was on a Friday and the dealership was called just after 9:00 AM on Saturday. The dealership has told his daughter that you are waiting to talk to the owner when he returns from vacation on Tuesday. We are hoping the a compromise can be made that doesn't leave our father in such bad shape financially.

We are glad Mr.Glover was able to come back to the dealership on Friday with his daughter to discuss his purchase of the Chevrolet Colorado on the 14th. This meeting allowed the dealership to review everything with the customer, Mr. Glover, and all concerned family members. After a long discussion with Mr. Glover's daughter and her cousin, they shared that Mr. Glover has no mental ailments and is fully competent in making his financial decisions. Mr. Glover expressed once again his desire to keep the vehicle. For all the hardship he is going through over his decision to purchase the vehicle, the dealership provided a 5-year maintenance plan, free of charge, to Mr. Glover. In closing, it appears one of Mr. Glover's relatives is going to be working on trying to obtain a GM Discount for Mr. Glover within the coming week in lieu of the Supplier Discount the Dealership was able to obtain for Mr. Glover. If they are able to obtain the additional discount the dealership will apply the added discount for the customer.
