My family and I were looking to get into a bigger vehicle with a lower payment than our current ($870/mo) vehicle as we bought new in 2021. Going into the dealership we already took the car to CarLax and got with a lower payment than our current ($870/mo) vehicle as we bought new in 2021. Going into the dealership we already took the car to CarLax and got a $30k offer in cash (no trade in) so we had that as a baseline. This dealership offered 27.5k. We told the salesman that we needed to go look at a few dealerships as this was much less than we were expecting. He said we had a chip in the windshield and a small door ding. He then tried to tell us that other dealerships will TELL you they will offer you more just to get you in the door but won’t actually offer us more. He was literally suggesting we just take his word that there would be no better deal at any other dealership. He asked what car we were going to look at elsewhere and then pulled a similar one up to look at. This thing didn’t even have a center console handle. He said it was a fresh trade and everything would be fixed through service. Yea right. After we said there is just no way we can make it work today, he said he needed to go talk to his boss. After a few minutes, he finally brought us our keys so we could leave. We have since been offered 31.5k at another dealership. On principal alone, we would never return to this dealership again. More
